Sectional Semifinals

Central Jersey Group IV

(13) Hillsborough 55, (9) Marlboro 52

The Raiders blocked a three-point attempt as time expired to preserve a sectional semifinal win over the Mustangs and advance to the sectional final for the second time in program history.

Hillsborough will travel to play No. 2 Freehold Township in Monday's Central Jersey Group IV championship game.

Kenny LaRocca led Marlboro with 15 points, while George Elghoul pitched in 14 and Matt Ringel added 10.

(2) Freehold Twp. 53, (3) Colts Neck 40

Senior Jason Czajkowski scored 15 points and senior Dan Saunders added 11 as the Patriots pulled away to beat the Cougars and advance to their fifth ever sectional final appearance and first since 2009. Freehold Township will host No. 13 Hillsborough Monday, with both teams looking for their first ever sectional championship.

Freehold Township held Colts Neck to 1-for-17 shooting from the three-point line and the Cougars hurt their own cause by shooting 5-for-15 from the free-throw line, including 3-for-11 in the second half and 0-for-5 to finish the game.

Tyree Wilson added eight points, six rebounds and five assists for Freehold Township. Junior Tom O'Reilly led Colts Neck with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Lloyd Daniels scored seven of his 10 points in the first half.

Central Jersey Group II

(2) Manasquan 50, (11) Matawan 47

Kyle Bradshaw scored 13 points to go with 10 rebounds and knocked down the go-ahead free throws in the final minute to break a 42-42 tie and propel the Warriors to a win over the defending sectional champion Huskies. Manasquan will play for the Central Jersey Group II title at home Monday against No. 8 Bordetown, the Warriors' second trip to a sectional final in three years and third since 2009, the last year they won CJ II.

Aidan McMenaman scored a game-high 17 points to lead Manasquan, while senior Luke O'Shaughnessy added nine points and 10 assists in the win.

Junior Mergim Gjyriqi led Manasquan with 16 points, including four three-pointers in the first half. In their final high school games, seniors Jason Dunne and Joe Piscopo scored nine points apiece.

Central Jersey Group I

(4) Shore 44, (1) Perth Amboy Tech 29

Senior Dan Largey scored his 1,000th career point in the fourth quarter and the Blue Devils outscored Perth Amboy Tech 16-5 in the third to break the game open and roll into the sectional final against Point Beach for the second straight year.

The two-time defending champion Garnet Gulls have defeated Shore in each of the last two years - in the championship game last year and the sectional semifinals a year earlier.

Largey finished with a game-high 19 points, while senior Jack Byrne added 10 points and senior Kevin Bloodgood chipped in 11.

(3) Point Beach 71, (7) South Hunterdon 50

Senior Jesse Hill scored 14 of his 29 points in the third quarter and hit seven of nine three-point attempts in the game to help the Garnet Gulls beat the Eagles and advance to Tuesday's championship game.

Point Beach will play for its third straight sectional championship when it hosts Shore Regional at 6:30 p.m., a rematch of last years Central Jersey Group I final.

Hill added eight rebounds and four blocks to his line and scored 24 of his points in the second and third quarters. Junior Jimmy Panzini, meanwhile, scored 20 of his 23 points in the second half after sitting the majority of the first half with two fouls.

Senior Mike Frauenheim scored all nine of his points in the first quarter, when Point Beach jumped out to a 19-7 lead behind 4-for-8 shooting from the three-point line as a team. South Hunterdon rallied to tie the game at 23 with a 16-4 run, but the Garnet Gulls still led 29-25 at half thanks to Hill - who scored all 10 of Point Beach's second-quarter points.

Sectional Quarterfinals

Central Jersey Group III

(3) Hamilton West 51, (6) Wall 49

Brendan Barcas scored 14 points and Ryan Janeczek added 11 but a last-second rally by the Crimson Knight came up just short and the Hornets advance to the sectional semifinals to play No. 10 Middletown North.

Janeczek nailed an off-balanced three-pointer to cut Hamilton's lead to 50-49 with nine seconds left. The Hornets made the first of two free throws and after a miss on the second attempt, Barcas came up short on a desperation heave from halfcourt at the buzzer.

The loss ends Wall's best season since 1992, a campaign that included 19 wins and the program's first outright division championship since 1974. The Crimson Knights also had three seniors reach the 1,000-point mark for their careers - Janeczek, Barcas and Trent Mitchell.

(10) Middletown North 39, (15) Holmdel 34 (OT)

Senior Vinny Youncofski scored 12 points and hit the go-ahead three in overtime to launch the Lions past the Hornets and into the sectional semifinals for the fourth time in the last five years.

Middletown North entered the tournament on a 10-game losing streak, but has won two straight overtime games to earn a semifinal match-up at No. 3 Hamilton West.

Youncofski went 4-for-6 from three-point range in the game, while senior Dylan Frawley added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Middletown North. Frawley also sank the game-tying free throws with 6.6 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.

Senior Luke Mayell led Holmdel with 17 points.

South Jersey Group III

(3) Toms River South 68, (11) Ocean City 61

Senior Tymere Berry scored a game-high 31 points to go with seven rebounds and five steals and the Indians outlasted the Vikings to advance to Monday's sectional semifinal at No. 2 Winslow.

Senior Khaleel Greene added 14 points and seven rebounds for Toms River South.

South Jersey Non-Public A

(2) Camden Catholic 52, (7) Red Bank Catholic 40

Evan Madigan scored 14 points and the Caseys were within a basket of the second-seeded Irish heading to the fourth quarter, but Camden Catholic outscored Red Bank Catholic 18-8 over the final eight minutes to advance to Sunday's sectional semifinal. Camden Catholic will host No. 3 CBA at 6 p.m.

Liam Byrne and Eddie Hahn each added 10 points for Red Bank Catholic.
