Central Jersey Group IV

Mike Reilly poured in 23 points and the Raiders topped the Braves on the road to advance to the quarterfinals against No. 12 Howell. Zach Misischia led Manalapan with 16 points while Kyle Mullen poured in 13 in defeat.

(3) Colts Neck 60, (14) Hunterdon Central 49

Chris O'Reilly scored 30 of Colts Neck's 60 points and the Cougars beat the Red Devils to advance to the quarterfinals Wednesday against No. 11 North Brunswick. Mike Lamb added 10 points and three blocks for Colts Neck.

(9) Marlboro 56, (8) Monroe 45

George Elghoul led a balanced Marlboro offense with 14 points and the Mustangs beat the Falcons on the road to set up a quarterfinal showdown at No. 1 Montgomery on Wednesday. Matt Ringel added 12 points and P.J. Ringel chipped in 11 points for Marlboro.

(12) Howell 55, (5) East Brunswick 52

Senior Aaron Trimble scored 33 points, and his sixth and final three-pointer of the game put Howell up 51-49 with 14 seconds left, delivering the Rebels a first-round upset win over the Bears. Trimble then stole the ball on East Brunswick's ensuing possession.

Trimble finished off the game one point shy of 1,000 for his career, a mark he can reach Wednesday when Howell hosts No. 13 Hillsborough in the first home state playoff game in program history.

Will Kocsis added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Howell.

(2) Freehold Twp. 71, (15) Brick Memorial 62

Senior Jason Czajkowski scored 10 of his 19 points in the second quarter and senior Tyree Wilson scored all 18 of his points in the second half to help the Patriots close out the Mustangs and advance to Wednesday's quarterfinal round. Freehold Township will host No. 7 Trenton with a spot in the sectional semifinals on the line.

Nick Facendo added 14 points for Freehold Township, which played without senior guard Kyle Czajkowski, who will miss the rest of the season with a broken wrist he sustained in a Shore Conference Tournament loss to Rumson-Fair Haven on Feb. 22.

Scott White led Brick Memorial with a game-high 21 points, while Aaron Scheiderman added 16 points and R.J. Hernandez pitched in 12 points and 12 rebounds.

 

Central Jersey Group II

(1) Lakewood 56, (16) Willingboro 39

Ryan Lawrence scored a game-high 20 points and the top-seeded Piners handled the Chimeras in the opening round. Lakewood will host No. 8 Bordentown in the sectional quarterfinals on Wednesday.

(4) Rumson-Fair Haven 91, (13) Delran 56

Junior Brendan Barry scored 29 points and senior Alex Geiger hit seven of Rumson's 17 three-pointers as the Bulldogs rolled to a win over the Bears in the opening round. Rumson will host No. 5 Manchester in Wednesday's sectional quarterfinals.

(2) Manasquan 54, (15) Cinnaminson 51

Junior Ryan Jensen scored 10 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to help lead the Warriors past the Pirates and into the sectional quarterfinals Wednesday against No. 7 Spotswood. Jack Sheehan scored a team-high 12 points for Manasquan while senior Aidan McMenaman added 11 and Kyle Bradshaw chipped in 10 in the win.

(5) Manchester 70, (12) Hillside 42

Jordan Torney scored 24 points to go with seven steals and three blocks and Shavar Reynolds flirted with a triple-double as the Hawks routed the Comets to advance to the sectional quarterfinals on Wednesday. Manchester will travel to play Shore Conference Tournament champion and No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven.

Reynolds posted 17 points, 11 assists and eight steals for Manchester and Robert Planter chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

(11) Matawan 55, (6) Governor Livingston 45

Senior Jason Dunne scored a game-high 23 points and the defending Central Jersey Group II champion Huskies began their title defense by knocking off the Highlanders on the road. Matawan will travel to play No. 3 North Plainfield on Wednesday in the sectional quarterfinals.

Junior Mergim Gjyriqi added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Nick Smith chipped in nine points and eight rebounds for Matawan.

 

South Jersey Group IV

(3) Cherry Hill East 86, (14) Toms River East 46

(1) Toms River North 72, (16) Clearview 52

Senior Ted Thelemaque scored a game-high 19 points and Pat Marinaccio chipped in 16 as the Mariners beat the Pioneers with their two leading scorers - sophomore Mike Nyisztor and senior Evan Martin - out of action Monday. Nyisztor was nursing an ankle injury, while Martin has a broken nose, according to coach Rory Caswell.

Senior Jordan Craig added 10 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks, while senior Kevin Blum chipped in 11 points to help pick up the missing production. Caswell said he expects Nyisztor will play Wednesday against No. 8 Rancocas Valley, while Martin's availability is still up in the air.

(7) Southern 61, (10) Shawnee 52

Peyton Wejnert scored 23 points and Mark Valeriani hit four three-pointers off the bench for 12 points as the Rams beat the Renegades to advance to the sectional quarterfinals against No. 2 Atlantic City. Jake Logue also chipped in 11 points and Eric Ray poured in eight in the win.

 

South Jersey Group II

(5) Sterling 63, (12) Barnegat 48

Devon Tuten scored a game-high 24 points and Sterling beat the Bengals to end a .500 season for Barnegat (13-13). Nick Camarato led the Bengals with 16 points, while Xavier Young added 10.
