Class A North

Manalapan 70, Middletown South 38

Junior Gerard Hodge-Rocourt scored a game-high 23 points and the Braves (5-11, 3-9) routed the Eagles (3-15, 1-10) to snap an eight-game losing streak. Senior Matt Colella added 14 points for Manalapan, while junior Kevin Naughton led Middeltown South with 10 points.

Freehold Twp. 48, Middletown North 31

Junior Jason Czajkowski scored 18 points and the Patriots (13-6, 9-2) topped the Lions (11-6, 8-4) to gain a two-game lead on the public division title race.

 

Class A Central

St. John Vianney 65, Raritan 42

Senior Vinny Facchino scored 10 points along with four steals and sophomore Grant Goode posted 10 points and seven rebounds to help the Lancers (7-14 ,4-8) roll to a win over the Rockets (4-16, 2-11). Sophomore Joe Strand led Raritan with a game-high 14 points.

No. 9 Shore 63, Monmouth 37

 

Class A South

Brick Memorial 56, Brick 32

Senior Mike Basile scored 17 points and the Mustangs (10-7, 8-5) beat the Green Dragons (1-18, 0-13) to secure a Shore Conference Tournament berth. Junior Aaron Scheiderman added 11 points in the win, while junior Brian Oehme led Brick with nine points.

Toms River North 57, Lacey 51

Junior Jordan Craig scored 20 points and junior Ted Thelemaque added 18 points to help the Mariners (11-10, 7-6) beat the Lions (8-8, 7-5) and clinch an SCT berth. Junior Chris Iapicco had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead Lacey, which now must beat Jackson Memorial in order to qualify for the SCT.

Southern 64, Toms River South 60

Senior Mike Gesicki and junior Jake Logue combined for 47 points and the Rams (10-7, 8-4) edged the Indians (13-6, 8-5) to clinch a Shore Conference Tournament berth. Gesicki scored a game-high 24 points to go with 16 rebounds, while Logue poured in 23 points.

Senior Marquis Davis led Toms River South with 24 points, while junior Khaleel Green poured in 17 and senior Darius Hart added 11.

 

Class B North

No. 10 Red Bank 74, No. 4 Long Branch 67 (2 OT)

Sophomore Sadiq Palmer scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds and the Bucs (12-6, 5-5)  knocked off the Green Wave (11-6, 7-4) in double overtime. Junior Anthony Mitchell added 17 points, 15 of which came in the second half and overtime.

Long Branch junior Izayah Irizarry scored a game-high 19 points and hit a game-tying three in the final seconds of the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Sophomore Jamar Foster later hit a three late in the first overtime to again push the game into an extra period.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 48, Henry Hudson 42

Senior Joe Esquival-Murphy put up 16 points and seven rebounds and sophomore James Geraghty added 15 points to help the Panthers (7-10, 3-10) beat the Admirals (6-12, 4-10). Freshman Joe Mahoney poured in 11 points on three 3-pointers for Ranney, while senior Jaxon Terrell led Henry Hudson with 16 points.

Mater Dei Prep 48, Keansburg 43

Senior Sam Miles scored 20 points and the Seraphs (8-7, 7-5) edged the Titans (5-12, 4-9) to move within a win of clinching a Shore Conference Tournament berth. Junior Tysaun White added 12 points for Mater Dei Prep, while senior Kason Preston led Keansburg with a game-high 21 points despite playing on an injured ankle for most of the second half.

St. Rose 64, Keyport 40

Senior Dan Borner scored 27 points and the Purple Roses (14-5, 11-2) cruised to a win over the Red Raiders (11-5, 9-4). Senior Bobby Hendrickson also poured in 24 points for St. Rose, while senior Alex Thomson led Keyport with 15 points.

No. 1 Point Beach 74, Asbury Park 49

Senior Matt Farrell scored 16 points to lead a balanced effort and the Garnet Gulls (19-1, 12-0) beat the Blue Bishops (1-14, 1-11) to clinch at least a share of the Class B Central title. Senior Dom Uhl added 15 points and senior Noah Yates dropped 12 in the win. Sophomor Mikal Fearon led Asbury Park with 13 points.

 

Class B South

Barnegat 49, Central 48

Senior Bennie Bivins scored 16 points and converted the game-winning layup with three seconds left to give the Bengals (1-17, 1-11) their first win of the season, a victory over the Golden Eagles (5-11, 4-8). Junior Xavier Young added 15 points and eight rebounds, while junior Kyle Morris chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds for Barnegat.

No. 5 Lakewood 71, Jackson Liberty 40

Sophomore Sean Barksdale hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points off the bench and the Piners (17-3, 12-0) beat the Lions (9-11, 5-7) to clinch the Class B South championship. Senior Danny Niblack added 13 points and seven rebounds, sophomore Naquese Joshua chipped in eight points and six assists and sophomore Amir Tyler netted nine points in the win.

Point Boro 58, Manchester 52 (OT)

Sophomore Peyton Wejnert scored 28 points and senior Will Boccanfuso added 14 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and five steals to help the Panthers (12-5, 10-3) beat the Hawks (12-6, 6-5) for the second time this season.

Senior KaShaun Barnes scored 20 points to lead Manchester and hit two free throws with two seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 50. Sophomore Jordan Torney added 12 points and three blocks for Manchester.
