Freehold Twp. 64, Howell 45

Juniors Jason Czajkowski and Dan Saunders each scored 11 points and the Patriots (4-3, 2-0) used a balanced scoring attack to storm past the Rebels and end a three-game skid. Senior Donovan Griffith led Howell (2-3, 0-2) with a game-high 14 points.

No. 3 CBA 55, Middletown South 34

Sophomore Pat Andree scored 20 points and the Colts (3-2, 2-0) rode an 18-6 second-quarter run to beat the Eagles (2-3, 0-2). Senior Matt Gray led Middletown South with 20 points.

Colts Neck 50, Marlboro 33

Junior Chris O'Reilly scored 12 points and sophomore Lloyd Daniels added 11 to lead the Cougars (3-2, 2-0) to a win over the Mustangs (1-4, 0-2). Junior George Elghoul led Marlboro with 11 points.

 

Class A Central

No. 8 Shore 73, St. John Vianney 52

Senior Dan Pillari and junior Kevin Bloodgood each scored 22 points and the Blue Devils (4-2, 1-1) outscored the Lancers 22-8 in the fourth quarter to close out their fourth straight win. Junior Dan Largey added 17 points for Shore, while sophomore Grant Goode led St. John Vianney with 17.

Holmdel 55, Monmouth 41

Senior Gerard Nocera scored a game-high 19 points and the Hornets (3-4, 2-1) rolled to a win over the Falcons (1-5, 0-3). Junior Luke Mayell added 16 points and junior Jeff Harris chipped in 13.

 

Class A South

Toms River East 53, Brick 49

Senior C.J. Hirschy scored all 17 of his points in the fourth quarter and the Raiders (4-1, 1-0) overcame a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun the Green Dragons (0-5, 0-2). Freshman Phil Lingat chipped in 10 points for Toms River East.

Senior Alex Pena led Brick with 13 points and senior Brian Gallagher added 11.

 

Class B North

Wall 46, Ocean 41

Junior Brendan Barcas scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the second half and the Crimson Knights (3-2, 1-0) rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat the Spartans (1-3, 0-2).

No. 6 Matawan 60, No. 4 Long Branch 48

Senior Chris Tawiah scored 26 points, including five 3-pointers, and the Huskies (5-1, 2-0) beat the Green Wave (4-2, 2-1) to take and early lead in the Class B North race. Junior Jason Dunne added 15 points and junior Joe Piscopo chipped in 10 for Matawan.

Long Branch senior Terrel Cox scored 20 points, including his 1,000th career point late in the second quarter.

 

Class B Central

Henry Hudson 63, Asbury Park 52

Senior Jaxon Terrell scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and the Admirals (2-2, 1-1) handed the Blue Bishops (0-5, 0-2) their fifth straight loss to open the season. Sophomore Tom DeFillippo added 14 points and six assists, while sophomore Makal Fearon led Asbury Park with 20 points.

 

Class B South

No. 2 Lakewood 80, Pinelands 31

Sophomore Amir Tyler scored 18 points to go with 10 steals and the Piners (4-1, 2-0) cruised to a win over the Wildcats (2-3, 1-1). Sophomore Hassan Diawara added 14 points and nine assists for Lakewood.
