Class A South

Brick Memorial 55, Central 50

Junior Matt Bernstein scored 16 points and the Mustangs (8-6, 6-3) hung on to beat a Golden Eagles (4-10, 2-7) coming off an emotional win over Point Beach on Saturday.

Senior Anthony Argondizza pitched in 10 points and junior Nick Manso added nine for Brick Memorial.

Senior Tom Ruscitti led Central with 16 points and senior Darius Martorano chipped in 12 in defeat.

Brick 66, Jackson Memorial 44

Junior Jalen Jackson scored 22 points and handed out six assists as the Green Dragons (9-3, 6-2) handled the Jaguars (2-12, 1-7).

Junior Shane Williams posted 16 points and 15 rebounds for Brick and senior Dan Venezia pitched in eight points and eight rebounds in the win.

Toms River South 64, Toms River East 62

Senior Armani Vazquez scored 23 points and the Indians (2-10, 1-7) hung on to beat the crosstown rival Raiders (7-7, 5-4) in an A South thriller.

Toms River East had a chance to tie the game from the foul line in the final seconds and after making one of two, the Raiders got the offensive rebound, but could not convert on the ensuing play.

Sophomore Rob Marro added 10 points, while sophomore Jalen Folsom and Jack Huber chipped in nine apiece for Toms River South.

Sophomore Mike Goodall led Toms River East with 19 points behind four three-pointers. Senior Nick Silvia also scored 14, senior Zyaire Dorn poured in 12 and sophomore Ryan Goodall chipped in 10 in the loss.

 

Class B Central

Henry Hudson 63, Keansburg 62 (2 OT)

Sophomore Michael Mohr led a balanced Henry Hudson scoring effort with 17 points and the Admirals (2-10, 1-6) outlasted the Titans (4-8, 2-6).

Junior Jay Anthony added 15 points, sophomore Grady Hendrickson poured in 13 and senior Ryan Matlaga chipped in 12 to aid the Henry Hudson cause.

Senior Danny Vital led Keansburg with a game-high 22 points and classmate Paul Eckleberry added 20 in the loss.

No. 2 Mater Dei Prep 84, Keyport 30

Point Beach 63, St. Rose 39

Senior Mohamed Traore scored 21 points to go with six rebounds and three steals as the Garnet Gulls (8-6, 5-3) beat the Purple Roses (6-6, 4-4) to snap a four-game skid.

Point Beach's four-game losing streak included consecutive losses to the top three teams in the Shore Sports Network Top 10 - No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven, No. 2 Mater Dei and No. 1 Ranney - followed by a loss at Central at the buzzer.

Senior Trevor Covey matched Traore with 21 points and senior Danny Frauenheim posted 11 points, 12 assists and four steals for Point Beach.

Senior Dave Calloway led St. Rose with 11 points and sophomore John Beattie added 10 in the loss.

 

Class B South

Lakewood 55, Barnegat 51

Senior Khari Jenkins scored 16 points and the Piners (8-6, 6-3) held off a fourth-quarter rally by the home team to beat the Bengals (8-4, 3-4) for their fourth straight B South win and fourth win in five games overall.

Senior Kevin Dent chipped in 14 points, sophomore Ryan Savoy added 10 and senior Zyheir Jones netted nine for Lakewood.

Senior Mike Revello scored a game-high 17 points to lead Barnegat, while senior Carson Francisco scored 14 and junior Sean Morris dropped 12 in defeat. Barnegta  entered the fourth quarter trailing by 13 before rallying to within one score.

Donovan Catholic 52, Manchester 39

Senior Anthony Silvestrone scored 23 points and added three steals to lead the Griffins (6-7, 5-4) to a win over the Hawks (1-11, 1-7).

Junior Phil Mylod chipped in 11 points and senior Nik Ferraro contributed six points and 11 rebounds for Donovan Catholic, which stormed out to a 15-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Senior Jerry Ward led Manchester with 15 points and freshman Trevor Pruitt chipped in 13 in the loss.

Point Boro 46, Lacey 44

Senior Connor Costigan scored 19 points and senior John Duda added 18 as the Panthers (10-2, 7-1) escaped Lacey with a win over the Lions (5-7, 3-5).

Junior Carl Swensen led Lacey with a game-high 23 points and junior Kevin O'Rourke chipped in nine points and seven rebounds in a losing cause.

Pinelands 42, Jackson Liberty 41 (2 OT)

Sophomore Ryan Skeie scored 14 points and junior Andrew Schulz added 13 to help the Wildcats (8-6, 6-2) edge the Lions (5-9, 2-7) in double-overtime.

Junior Takai Anderson led Jackson Liberty with 10 points while Pinelands held Jackson Liberty leading scorer Daniel Sofield to nine.

 

Non-Division

Monmouth 56, Shore 51

Junior Kerron Holley scored a game-high 23 points and the Falcons (1-11) beat the Blue Devils (5-9) for their first win of the season and the first career win for first-year coach Jeff Sfraga.

Junior Kyle Koob led Shore with 20 points and junior Chris Panduri poured in 19 in the loss.

 

Non-Conference
