Sophomore Isaac Hester scored a career-high 30 points to go with seven rebounds and the Panthers (2-0) downed the Scarlet Fliers (0-2) to complete and first-week sweep in a two-game series pitting the only two Shore Conference teams to ever play in the Tournament of Champions final.

Junior Elijah Perkins scored 20 points and dished out five assists for Ranney despite playing just seven first-half minutes due to foul trouble.

Senior Sam Fagan led three Neptune players in double-figure scoring with 17 points, while junior Malik Fields and senior Andre Harris (four three-pointers) added 12 apiece. Senior Bryson Byrd and junior Oneil Campbell also scored nine points each for Neptune.

Senior Alex Baker scored 16 points and the Hornets (2-0) locked up the Cougars (0-2) to complete a decisive opening-week sweep. Senior Ryan Bradley added 14 points and senior Kyle Polivka pitched in 13 for Holmdel.

No. 1 Manasquan 53, St. Rose 37 - Watch Live ($)

Junior Ben Roy scored 13 of his game-high 30 points over the last four minutes of the third quarter and the Warriors (2-0) shook off the Purple Roses (0-2) to sweep the season series.

St. Rose led, 23-19, with under six minutes to go in the third quarter before Manasquan tied the game with back-to-back baskets by senior Andrew Solomon - the second of which was assisted by Roy. Roy then hit a tiebreaking three-pointer with 3:55 left to start a personal 10-0 run and give Manasquan the lead for good.

After senior Tom Turnbach ended Manasquan's 14-0 run with a three-point play to make it 33-26, Roy answered with a long three-pointer to beat the third-quarter buzzer. Turnbach finished with 15 points to lead St. Rose

Middletown North 70, Matawan 60

Juniors Matt Kenny and Lucas Cerbo each scored 18 points and the Lions salvaged a split with the Huskies (1-1) after Matawan (1-1) won Wednesday's season-opener between the two teams in Middletown.

Senior Andre Wells led Matawan with 16 points, six rebounds and 10 assists while senior Gio Gallo matched Kenny and Cerbo with 18 points on six three-pointers in the loss.

No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 83, Long Branch 35 - Watch Live ($)

Junior Cyril Arvanitis hit five of his eight three-pointers in the first quarter and finished with a game-high 26 points as the Caseys (2-0) cruised to a win over the Green Wave (0-2).

Three other RBC players eclipsed double-figure scoring, led by junior C.J. Ruoff with 13 points. Junior Alex Bauman added 12 and freshman Gio Panzini poured in 11.

Ba-sean Fraser, Mekhi Priester and Bruce Gooding each scored six points to lead Long Branch.
