Class A Central

No. 8 Red Bank Catholic 68, No. 6 Manasquan 52

Sophomore Evan Madigan scored 24 points and senior Quenton Nelson added 15 points and 13 rebounds as the Caseys (8-3, 6-1) won to pull into a first-place tie with the Warriors (8-2, 6-1) atop Class A Central.

Sophomore Ryan Jensen led Manasquan with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Tommy Toole added 12 points, five rebounds and six steals in the loss.

 

Class A South

Jackson Memorial 55, Brick Memorial 48

Senior Eric Carter scored a game-high 21 points and junior Jesse Hill added 18 to help lead the Jaguars (9-4, 5-1) to a key road win over the Mustangs (6-4, 4-3) to keep their spot at the top of the Class A South standings.

Senior Jimmy Markham also poured in 11 points for Jackson Memorial. Junior Aaron Scheiderman led Brick Memorial with 15 points and junior teammate Scott White added 13.

Toms River North 56, Brick 49 (OT)

Junior Jordan Craig scored 21 points and the Mariners (6-6, 5-2) used a 7-0 run in overtime to pull out a win over the Green Dragons (0-12, 0-7). Sophomore Pat Marinaccio added 18 points for Toms River North.

Senior Rich Mitukiewicz led Brick with 13 points and senior Brian Gallagher added 10, including two of three free throws with one second left in the fourth quarter to tie the game.

Toms River South 53, Lacey 40

Junior Khaleel Green scored a game-high 19 points and the Indians (8-3, 4-2) beat the Lions (4-6, 3-4) on the road. Senior Marquis Davis poured in 15 points, junior Tymere Berry added 12, and senior Darius Hart chipped in 10 points, three blocks and five steals.

Junior Chris Iapicco led Lacey with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Class B North

Freehold 49, Wall 45

Senior Donald Allen scored 13 points and freshman Elijah Barnes added 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks to lead the Colonials (2-10, 1-6) to a win over the Crimson Knights (5-6, 1-4), snapping a seven-game losing streak.

 

Class B Central

Keyport 78, Asbury Park 58

Senior Alex Thomson scored 43 points - his second straight game with 40-plus points - to go with 13 rebounds and the Red Raiders (8-2, 6-1) rolled past the Blue Bishops (1-8, 1-5). Thomson scored 40 points in a win over METS Charter on Thursday, including his 1,000th career point.

St. Rose 61, Henry Hudson 33

No. 1 Point Beach 76, Keansburg 28

Senior Matt Farrell led four players in double-figures with 15 points and the Garnet Gulls (10-0, 6-0) cruised past the Titans (0-10, 0-7) for their 10th straight win to open the season. Senior Dom Uhl scored 14 points, senior Noah Yates added 13 and junior Chris Schifano chipped in 10. Point Beach will host No. 5 Lakewood on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Mater Dei Prep 43, Ranney 35

Senior Sam Miles scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds and the Seraphs (5-3, 4-2) topped the Panthers (4-6, 1-6). Freshman Eddie Lewis added 13 points and five steals for Mater Dei, while senior Joe Esquival-Murphy led Ranney with 10 points.

 

Class B South

Jackson Liberty 57, Barnegat 44

Senior James Sofield scored a game-high 26 points and the Lions (7-5, 4-3) topped the Green Dragons. Sophomore Nick Camarato led Barnegat with 11 points.

Central 61, Pinelands 49

Senior Stefano Minale led three Central players in double-figures with 15 points and the Golden Eagles (4-5, 3-3) beat the Wildcats (3-8, 1-5) for their third straight win. Junior John Forrester and sophomore Riley Collins each scored 13 points in the win.

No. 5 Lakewood 70, Manchester 52

Senior Ben Watson scored 18 points with 16 rebounds and senior Dan Niblack had 17 points and nine rebounds to help lead the Piners (9-2, 6-0) to a win over the Hawks (7-5, 2-4), securing a season-sweep of their division rivals.

Sophomore Naquese Joshua added 13 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Senior Darius Barlow led Manchester with 14 points, while senior KaShaun Barnes and sophomore Jordan Torney each scored 11 in the loss.

Point Boro 56, No. 9 Monsignor Donovan 55

Sophomore Peyton Wejnert scored on a putback as time expired to cap a big night and give the Panthers (7-4, 5-2) a win over the Griffins (8-4, 4-2). Wejnert finished with 30 points and 20 rebounds to lead Point Boro.

 

Non-Division

No. 4 Long Branch 71, Freehold Twp. 48

Senior Terrel Cox scored 18 points and the Green Wave (9-2) handled the Patriots (8-5) for their fifth straight win. Sophomore Jamar Foster scored 13 points off the bench and senior Deon Williams poured in 11 for Long Branch.

Senior Chris Talbott led Freehold Township with 17 points.

Ocean 54, Monmouth 40

Junior Taj Shomo scored 17 points to go with five assists and the Spartans (4-6) beat the Falcons (1-12). Senior Chris Seager added 11 points for Ocean, while junior Kyle Bradshaw led Monmouth with 13 points.
