A Dozen Teams To Take Part In Winter Showcase
With no football this coming weekend high school basketball fans can watch a six-pack of games Saturday as part of the 2nd annual Winter Hoops Classic at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena on the campus of Toms River High School North. Hosted by the Toms Regional School District in conjunction with the Shore Sports Network the all-day event features six boys games with 10 of the 12 participating teams from the Shore Conference.
Three of the teams taking the court are ranked in this week’s Shore Sports Network Top Ten. WOBM Christmas Classic champion Manasquan (11-1) is #7, followed by 8th ranked Matawan (11-2) and #9 Toms River North (12-2).
Admission for the all-day event is $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors.
The schedule for Saturday:
11:00 a.m. - Brick Memorial vs. Donovan Catholic
12:30 p.m. - Matawan vs. Toms River South
2:00 p.m. - Long Branch vs. Manasquan
3:30 p.m. - Hunterdon Central vs. Toms River North
5:00 p.m. - Ridge vs. Toms River East
6:30 p.m. - St. John Vianney vs. Central Regional
