Class A South

Toms River East 67, Brick 55

Senior C.J. Hirschy scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter and sophomore Ryan West led the Raiders (6-5, 2-4) with 14 points in a win over the Green Dragons (0-13, 0-8). Junior Nat Amadeo added 11 points, five rebounds and two steals for Toms River East.

Junior Brian Oheme led Brick with 11 points and senior Brian Gallagher added 10 points in the loss.

Brick Memorial 58, Toms River North 57 (OT)

Junior Aaron Scheiderman scored 15 points and the Mustangs (7-4, 5-3) rallied from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Mariners (6-8, 5-4). Junior Joe Hans added 10 points and junior Scott White poured in 10 for Brick Memorial.

Sophomore Pat Marinaccio led Toms River North with a career-high 23 points and junior Jordan Craig added 13.

Lacey 45, No. 8 Southern 43 (OT)

Junior Chris Iapicco scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Lions (5-6, 4-4) to their second win over the Rams (5-5, 3-3) in the last five days.

Senior Mike Gesicki returned from a leg injury after sitting out the loss to Lacey on Thursday and led Southern with 19 points.

 

Class B North

Neptune 48, No. 3 Matawan 45

Senior Myles Mooney scored 14 points and the Scarlet Fliers (7-4, 5-2) held off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Huskies (12-2, 5-1) to pick up a key Class B North win and end Matawan's 11-game winning streak.

Sophomore Marque Ellington added 10 points for Neptune and junior Diondre Dunn chipped in nine points and six rebounds off the bench. Junior Jason Dunne led Matawan with 17 points while junior Joe Piscopo and senior Chris Tawiah each added 10.

Neptune led by as many as 15 in the third quarter and 14 early in the fourth, but Matawan rallied to pull within 46-45 with 1:19 left on a banked three-point shot by Tawiah. The Huskies had three chances to take the lead, but Piscopo missed the front end of a 1-and-1, Tawiah missed two free throws, followed by a turnover, all within 28 seconds.

No. 4 Long Branch 52, Wall 37

No Long Branch players scored in double-figures, but the Green Wave (10-2, 6-1) rode a balanced offensive effort and strong defensive game to a win over the Crimson Knights (6-7, 1-5). The win gives Long Branch sole possession of first place after Neptune (7-4, 5-2) beat Matawan (12-2, 5-1) earlier in the evening.

Senior Terrel Cox, junior Izayah Irizarry and sophomore Jamar Foster each scored nine points to lead Long Branch.

Junior Brendan Barcas led Wall with a game-high 10 points.

 

Class B Central

Keansburg 56, Henry Hudson 45

Senior Kason Preston scored a career-high 36 points - his third game of 30-plus points this season - and the Titans (1-11, 1-7) topped the Admirals (5-6, 3-5) for their first win of the season.

Keyport 68, Ranney 44

Senior Alex Thomson had 26 points, 23 rebounds and six assists and the Red Raiders (9-2, 7-1) stormed past the Panthers (5-7, 1-7) for their seventh win in the last eight games. Senior Ezra Hill netted 13 points and sophomore Trevor Alvarez added 12 in the win.

Sophomore James Geraghty led Ranney with 14 points and senior Joe Esquival-Murphy added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

No. 1 Point Beach 74, Mater Dei Prep 41

Senior Matt Farrell scored 22 points and senior Dom Uhl added 12 as the Garnet Gulls (12-0, 7-0) remained unbeaten by beating the Seraphs (5-5, 4-3). Senior Sam Miles and freshman Eddie Lewis each led Mater Dei Prep with 15 points.

St. Rose 72, Asbury Park 32

Senior Matt Skea led four St. Rose players in double-figures with 15 points to go with seven rebounds and the Purple Roses (10-3, 7-1) beat the Blue Bishops (1-10, 1-7) for the second time in three days.

Junior Bob Sun added 12 points and senior Dan Borner and junior Nolan Slattery scored 10 points each. Borner added four steals and Slattery handed out six assists as well.

Junior Tyquis Davis led Asbury Park with 12 points.

 

Class B South

No. 5 Lakewood 95, Barnegat 43

Senior Ben Watson scored 16 points to lead a widespread scoring effort as the Piners (10-3, 7-0) handled the Bengals (0-11, 0-7) to remain unbeaten in Class B South. Sophomore Nick Camarato led Barnegat with 16 points.

Monsignor Donovan 68, Central 52

Point Boro 66, Jackson Liberty 41

Senior Will Boccanfuso scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out four assists to help the Panthers (8-4, 6-2) roll to a win over the Lions (7-6, 4-4). Sophomore Peyton Wejnert added 16 points and nine rebounds while senior Brian Byinton had 12 points and seven rebounds in the win.

Manchester 53, Pinelands 48

Senior Darius Barlow scored a game-high 24 points and the Hawks (8-5, 3-4) overcame a six-point halftime deficit to beat the Wildcats (3-9, 1-6). Senior KaShaun Barnes added 13 points in the win.
