Every week this spring, Shore Sports Network will be selecting the WindMill Boys Lacrosse Team of the Week based on its performance over the past week.

The SSN Boys Lacrosse Team of the Week for Week 3 is Colts Neck, which went 3-0 and knocked off the No. 7 team in the Shore Sports Network Top 10 to continue its strong season. SSN was at practice on Tuesday to present the Cougars and head coach Keith Manara with a special framed Team of the Week certificate and a WindMill gift card.

The Cougars began their week with a 14-6 Class A North victory over district rival Freehold Township. Senior attackman Anastagio Muscara scored two goals and assisted on four others and senior midfielder Chris DeFillippo scored three times to lead a balanced offense. Peter Davi (2g, 2a). Nate Rowohit (2g, 1a), Mike Deissler (2g, 1a) and Sean Perkinson (1g, 1a) also delivered multi-point efforts.

Colts Neck followed with a 15-2 victory over Long Branch in which Rowohit led the way with three goals and three assists and Davi tallied two goals and three assists.

The marquee victory of the week came when the Cougars welcomed Jackson Memorial to Five Points Road on Friday, May 7. Jackson entered undefeated and ranked No. 7 in the SSN Top 10 but it was Colts Neck that emerged with a 10-6 victory. Deissler had a huge afternoon with five goals while DeFillippo added two goals and one assist.

Colts Neck began this week with an 18-6 win over Manalapan to extend its winning streak to four games and run its season record to 6-2. The Cougars have put themselves in good position to reach the Shore Conference Tournament and are knocking on the door of the SSN Top 10.

Offensive contributions have been spread throughout the lineup so far this season. Rowohit leads the team with 22 points on 13 goals and nine assists while Dessler leads in goals with 16 plus four assists for 20 points. Davi has nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points, Muscara has 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points and DeFillippo has 11 goals and seven assists for 18 points. Perkinson is also a double-digit scorer with 10 goals and three assists. Senior defenseman Jake Lupo leads the team with 62 ground balls.

A challenging game awaits today (May 12) when the Cougars host third-ranked Christian Brothers Academy (9-2). They are set to travel to Brick Township for a nondivisional game on Monday, May 17.
