Thrive Week 5 Girls Soccer Player of the Week

Madeline Nolan, Manchester

Freshman Madeline Nolan scored four out of her seven goals on the season in three games last week, with three of them scored in the Shore Coaches Cup. Nolan’s goals helped Manchester advance into the semifinals of the Shore Coaches Cup.

Nolan, who scored in five straight games in a span of eight days, started her streak against Southern, scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 victory for Manchester.

In the second round of the Coaches Cup, she once again scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Raritan. In the quarterfinals, Nolan had two goals and an assist to help Manchester upset No. 1 seed Point Beach, 4-2.

Nolan collected 50.4 percent of the votes casted for the Week 5 Player of the Week award. Point Pleasant Boro’s Ava Bjorndahl finished in second place with 23 percent of the votes.
