North Crossover

No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 58, Freehold Twp. 53

Junior David Carr scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half and senior Nick Rigby netted 10 of his 15 in the second half as the Bulldogs (11-2, 4-1) pulled out a road win over the Patriots (6-7, 1-4).

Senior Andrew Goodes poured in 12 points for Rumson, which got back in the win column after seeing its nine-game winning streak snapped Saturday vs. St. Peter's Prep.

Senior Leo Passalaqua also hit a key three-pointer in the fourth quarter as part of a five-point game.

Senior Brandon Norero led Freehold Township with 15 points, with senior Andrew Silverman added 11 in the loss.

 

Class B South

Manchester 52, Pinelands 50

Junior M.J. Goins drained the game-winning three-pointer with three seconds left and the Hawks (6-7, 3-4) escaped with a road win over the Wildcats (1-10, 0-4).

Goins finished with 10 points, while senior Tre Ross led Manchester with a career-high 17 points. Senior Alex Gant also threw in 10 in the win.

Junior Ty Kline scored 17 of his game-high 19 points in the second half to lead Pinelands. Senior Aiden Falduto, meanwhile, scored all 12 of his points in the first half and senior Gerald Newsome chipped in 10 in the loss.

 

South Crossover

Barnegat 48, No. 15 Toms River South 47

Junior Corey Zaccagna hit the game-winning three-pointer with 12 seconds left and the Bengals (7-6, 3-2) knocked off the Indians (8-4, 3-3) thanks to their unlikely hero.

Zaccagna did not enter Wednesday's game until after a timeout with 22 seconds left and 10 seconds later, he had the game-winning three-pointer to his credit.

Senior Jamari Smith led Barnegat with 14 points and junior Mason Krey chipped in 12 for the Bengals.

Senior Kai Barckley led Toms River South with a game-high 19 points.

No. 7 Central 52, Jackson Memorial 23

Senior Miles Chevalier and junior Jaycen Santucci combined for 43 of Central's 53 points and the Golden Eagles (9-3, 5-0) turned in another dominant defensive performance in beating the Jaguars (6-7, 4-1).

Chevalier matched Jackson Memorial's entire team with 23 points and Santucci posted 20 points and nine rebounds. Junior Royalty Riley also cleared out 10 rebounds for Central.

Senior Shaun Hubbard led Jackson Memorial with seven points.

 

Class A Central

Henry Hudson 86, Asbury Park 30

Freshman JoJo Newell led five Henry Hudson players in double-figures with 18 points and the Admirals (12-1, 5-1) coasted to a win over the Blue Bishops (0-12, 0-4).

Senior Jack Fitzpatrick poured in 16 points, sophomore Billy Quinn added 15, sophomore Mike Fitzpatrick contributed 14 and junior Kevin Pharo finished with 12 in the Henry Hudson effort.

Senior Shyhiam Barnes led Asbury Park with 16 points.

 

Non-Division

No. 13 Freehold Boro 88, Lakewood 23

Junior Aidan Hamlin-Woolfolk led five Freehold Boro starters in double-figure scoring with 15 points and seven Colonials (9-3) players scored at least eight points in a rout of the Piners (3-6).

Senior Sam Cranwell (four assists, three steals) and junior Qua'Mir Everett each added 12 points, while senior Christian DiGiso and junior Brian Tassey each pitched in 10 points, with Tassey also contributing five rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks.

Sophomore Mike Cush scored nine points and classmate Damier Lester poured in eight for Freehold Boro.

Isaiah Shade scored nine points and senior Alex Colon added eight to lead Lakewood.

Long Branch 56, Point Beach 53

Senior Peter Da Cruz scored four points in the final 42 seconds and blocked a potential go-ahead shot with 25 seconds left to help the Green Wave (2-11) secure a road win over the Garnet Gulls (6-6).

Da Cruz tipped in the go-ahead putback to give Long Branch a 54-53 lead with 42 seconds left, blocked a shot on the other end and converted the layup in transition to cap the game-clinching sequence.

Da Cruz led a well-rounded scoring effort with 17 points, while junior Joseph Corley and senior Jermandy Rosado each cracked double-figures -- Corley with 11 points and Rosado with 10. Senior Jahki Willis and junior Havier Gonzalez each added eight points in the win.

Junior Scot Crowley scored 11 points and freshman Tyler Preston added nine to lead Point Beach. Senior John Coakley and freshmen Danny Cavanaugh and Max Kochman finished with eight points apiece in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

No. 10 Marlboro 80, Allentown 51

Senior Steve Scimone hit all six of his three-pointers in the first half and scored 26 points -- all in the first three quarters -- to lead the Mustangs (7-5) to a win over the Redbirds (2-8).

Senior Dan Elmasri added 17 points and senior Brave Haugh pitched in 11 for Marlboro, which knocked down 11 three-pointers as a team.

No. 6 Red Bank Catholic 74, Hamilton West 66

Senior Pasquale Sabino scored 16 of his team-high 20 points in the second half and the Caseys (10-4) battled past the Hornets (4-7) on their home floor.

Senior Tyler Burnham scored all 18 of his points in the first three quarters and four Caseys teammates -- senior Luke Iasparro, senior Alec Montana, junior Ryan Prior and senior Sean Saxton -- hit two three-pointers apiece.

Prior finished with 12 points, Iasparro netted 10, Saxton chipped in eight and Montana contributed six in the win.
