Class A North

No. 3 CBA 68, No. 13 Manalapan 51

Junior Kevin Pikiell scored 15 points and all five CBA starters scored at least eight points to pace the Colts to a win over the Braves that clinches the outright Class A North division championship.

Junior Justin Fuerbacher added 14 points, senior Peter Noble chipped in 13, sophomore Connor Andree poured in 10 and sophomore Charlie Marcoullier netted eight for CBA.

Senior Anthony Leger scored a game-high 18 points to lead Manalapan, while classmate Colin O'Brien added 12 and junior Aiden Sosinov pitched in 10 in the loss.

No. 12 Marlboro 60, Freehold Twp. 50

Senior Dan Elmasri scored a game-high 22 points and the Mustangs inched closer to clinching a spot the Shore Conference Tournament by knocking the Patriots out of contention.

Senior Brave Haugh added 15 points and freshman Nolan Gong threw in 13 for Marlboro, which fell one win shy of qualifying for last year's SCT after winning it all in 2022. Marlboro has three games in the next four days and needs one win to qualify.

Senior Andrew Silverman led Freehold Township with 18 points.

 

Class B North

Middletown South 83, No. 4 Red Bank Catholic 81 (OT)

Junior Brady Hahn poured in 30 points and the Eagles knocked off the Caseys in overtime to keep their hopes of an SCT berth alive while ending RBC's hopes of a Class B North division championship.

Senior Will Nugent added 18 points and he and Hahn combined to go 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in overtime to help Middletown South close out the win.

Hahn and Nugent were two of five Middletown South starters to crack double-figure scoring, with seniors Owen Richter, Carmine DeCrenscenzo and Ryan Denery each scoring 11. Denery scored all of his points after halftime, including six in overtime.

Red Bank Catholic sent the game into overtime on a three-pointer by junior Ryan Prior as time expired in the fourth quarter. Prior finished with 12 points and hit four of RBC's 18 three-pointers.

Senior Luke Iasparro went off for 21 points on seven threes, while senior Colin Cavanaugh followed up his 35-point game with 11 threes on Saturday with 14 points on three three-pointers on Tuesday. Junior Sean Saxton also chipped in 13 points with a pair of three-pointers for RBC.

No. 6 Red Bank 51, No. 14 Colts Neck 49

Junior Zayier scored 15 points and the Bucs held off the Cougars to clinch a share of the Class B North championship. Red Bank can win the title outright with a win at Red Bank Catholic or a loss by Rumson to Middletown South on Thursday.

Junior Ryan Fisher added 12 points and senior Jameson Ackerman chipped in eight for Red Bank.

Senior Vova Trotsko scored a game-high 18 points to lead Colts Neck, while senior Mike Belcher added nine and classmate Dan Buoncore chipped in eight.

 

North Crossover

No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 76, No. 11 Howell 45

Sophomore Luke Cruz scored a career-high 28 points while blocking seven shots as the Bulldogs routed the Rebels to keep their hopes of a Class B North division title share alive.

Junior David Carr added 12 points and seniors Andrew Goodes and Nick Rigby each pitched in 11 for Rumson, which can share the division title with Red Bank if the Bulldogs defeat Middletown South and Red Bank Catholic defeats Red Bank on Thursday.

 

Class A South

Jackson Memorial 53, No. 16 Toms River South 52

Junior Brady Adams scored 15 points and the Jaguars knocked off the Indians at the wire.

Senior Shaun Hubbard scored 12 points and senior Devin Jones and sophomore Randy Holmes added eight apiece for Jackson Memorial.

Senior Kai Barckley scored 21 points, senior Rob Peirson added 13 and classmate Jordan Jones pitched in eight to lead Toms River South.

 

Class A Coastal

Freehold Boro 67, Raritan 43

Junior Brian Tassey struck for a second consecutive triple double after posting one on Saturday and the Colonials ran away with a win over the Rockets.

Tassey finished with 10 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and two blocked shots, while senior Christian DiGiso led Freehold Boro with 21 points and three steals. Junior Qua'Mir Everett also added 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots in the win.

Senior Alex Garguilo scored 11 points and sophomore Ian Mullan added 10 to lead Raritan.

No. 8 Holmdel 54, Long Branch 41

Senior Nick Seeloch poured in 20 points and the Hornets beat the Green Wave to move into a first-place tie with St. John Vianney with one game to play for each team in the Class A Coastal division race.

Sophomore James Vallillo pitched in 12 and seniors James Vallillo and Ben Kipnis added nine apiece for Holmdel, which could clinch a share of the division title Wednesday night if No. 1 St. Rose defeats St. John Vianney.

Senior Peter Da Cruz led Long Branch with 21 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots.

 

Class B Coastal

Ranney 66, Point Boro 47

Senior Drew Buck notched his first career triple-double on Senior Night and the Panthers kept their SCT hopes alive by topping the Panthers.

Buck posted 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while freshman Brody Mauro put up 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists and sophomore Shaan Nayar scored a game-high 17 points to go with five assists to lead Ranney.

Senior Jake Venturoso scored 12 points and freshman Hunter Hynes added 11 to lead Point Boro. Junior Drew Cardia and sophomore Jovin Steinmetz each added nine points in the loss.

 

Coastal Crossover

No. 2 Manasquan 54, Matawan 42

Junior Griffin Linstra put up 18 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to lead the Warriors to a road win over the Huskies.

Seniors Alex Konov and Luke Roy each pitched in 12 points and classmate Jason Larned contributed 10 points and five rebounds for Manasquan.

Senior Chauncey Brown scored 15 points to lead Matawan, while junior Amir Martinez added 10 and senior Chris Galasso put up eight in the loss.

 

Class A Central

Keyport 78, Asbury Park 33

Junior Dominico Dispenza scored 21 points and the Red Raiders coasted to a win over the Blue Bishops.

Senior Ryan Burns scored 14 points and classmate Mike Nichols added 11 for Keyport.

Senior Shyheim Barnes led Asbury Park with 16 points.

 

Class B Central

Jackson Liberty 66, Lakewood 38

Senior Charlie Callahan scored 17 points and junior Jesse Renouf added 12 on a perfect shooting night -- 4-for-4 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line -- to lead the Lions to a win over the Piners.

 

Non-Division

Middletown North 76, Monmouth 51

No. 7 Central 60, Lacey 42

Junior Jaycen Santucci scored 20 points and grabbed 10 boards to lead a Golden Eagles win over the Lions that completed a perfect 12-0 month of January for Central.

Senior Jordan Barbot added 11 points and junior Jayson King pitched in 10 points and five assists for Central.

Junior Jon Stabile led Lacey with 11 points and six rebounds.

 

Non-Conference

Brick 58, East Brunswick Magnet 33

Senior Sam Karavangelos scored 12 points on Senior Night and the Green Dragons picked up a win over the Tigers.

Sophomore Mike Sullivan added eight points and 10 rebounds for Brick.
