Class A North

No. 3 CBA 67, No. 15 Howell 44

Junior Justin Fuerbacher scored 13 of his 17 points after halftime and grabbed eight rebounds as the Colts pulled away in the second half to beat the Rebels.

Sophomore Charlie Marcoullier scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half for CBA, which outscored Howell, 24-10, in the third quarter to take control of the game.

Each of CBA's three other starters -- senior Peter Noble, junior Kevin Pikiell and sophomore Connor Andree -- added nine points, with Andree grabbing eight rebounds and Noble dishing out four assists.

Senior D.J. Orloff led Howell with 18 points and 13 rebounds, including 11 and 10 in the first half. Junior Zach Padilla scored all 13 of his points in the first half for Howell.

No. 11 Manalapan at Freehold Twp. -- PPD, TBA

The Manalapan at Freehold Township game was postponed during the second quarter after one of the officials suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital after being tended to by emergency personnel, according to Freehold Township coach Todd Smith.

 

Class B North

No. 12 Colts Neck 57, Middletown North 52

Senior Vova Trotsko scored 19 points while teammates Mike Belcher and Lucas Sloane each added 14 as the Cougars held off the Lions.

Senior Jason Quardt scored a game-high 22 points and junior Colin Byrne added 16 to lead Middletown North.

No. 8 Red Bank 64, No. 16 Middletown South 48

Junior Zayier Dean scored 19 points and the Bucs absorbed a fast start by the Eagles to pull away with a win and take over sole possession of first place in the Class B North standings.

Senior Braydon Kirkpatrick added 13 points for Red Bank, which erased a 15-10 first-quarter deficit by halftime and broke the game open with a 20-8 advantage in the third quarter.

Senior Will Nugent scored 14 points and junior Brady Hahn added 13 to pace Middletown South.

No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 71, No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 63

Junior Ryan Prior scored 11 of his game-high 24 points in the first quarter and the Caseys battle past the Bulldogs to stay in the race for the Class B North division championship.

Senior Pasquale Sabino added 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals and senior Colin Cavanaugh pitched in 14 points and three assists for Red Bank Catholic.

Junior David Carr scored 21 points and senior Nick Rigby added 17 points and nine rebounds to lead Rumson.

 

Class A Coastal

No. 4 Holmdel 87, Matawan 74

Sophomore Jack Vallillo scored a career-high 24 points on six three-pointers and senior teammate Ben Kipnis posted 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Hornets over the Huskies.

All five Holmdel starters cracked double-figures in scoring, with senior James Vallillo notching 15 and eight rebounds, senior Daxx Corneiro scoring 14 and senior Nick Seeloch putting up 12.

Holmdel's starting five outmatched Matawan's junior big three of Jayden Elijah, Chauncey Brown and Amir Martinez, who combined for 56 points. Elijah finished with 24 points and 17 rebounds, Brown went for 19, five and four assists, and Martinez contributed 13 points and three assists.

Raritan 76, Long Branch 57

Senior Alex Garguilo scored a Shore-Conference season-high 42 points on Senior Night and the Rockets rolled to a win over the Green Wave.

Garguilo shot 15-for-26 from the field and connected on 10 three-pointers. He also contributed five assists and six steals.

Sophomore Cam Gabloff added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists for Raritan.

St. John Vianney 42, No. 13 Freehold Boro 39

Senior Dylan Costa led a balanced attack with 11 points and four steals and the Lancers won a defensive battle over the Colonials.

Senior Emanuel Domingo (ankle) returned from a two-game absence to post eight points and seven rebounds, while senior Deon Jackson owned the glass with 13 rebounds.

Freshman Justin Togans led a defensive effort by St. John Vianney that held Freehold Boro junior standout Brian Tassey (seven rebounds, five assists) to one point.

Senior Christian DiGiso led Freehold Boro with 15 points, while junior teammate Aidan Hamlin-Woolfolk pitched in 11 and fellow junior Qua'Mir Everett scored eight.

 

Class B Coastal

No. 2 Manasquan 64, Point Boro 47

Junior Griffin Linstra put up 20 points and 12 rebounds and the Warriors topped the Panthers on the road.

Senior Alex Konov poured in 13 points, senior Luke Roy netted 10 and freshman Rey Weinseimer pitched in nine points and six assists for Manasquan.

Senior Jake Venturoso scored 17 points and junior Drew Cardia added 11 to lead Point Boro.

 

Non-Division

Brick 53, Asbury Park 32

Freshman Sean Nausedas scored 14 points and junior Jayden Johnson chipped in 12 points, five assists and six steals to help pace the Green Dragons to a road win over the Blue Bishops.

Freshman Anthony Stevens scored 12 points and classmate Khaborri Laboo added 10 to lead Asbury Park.

Keyport 61, Jackson Liberty 52

Junior Dominico Dispenza scored 19 points and the Red Raiders beat the Lions in a game that was suspended on Jan. 11 due to a serious injury sustained by Jackson Liberty senior Dylan Teopaco during the second quarter.

The game was resumed from the point at which it was suspended, with Keyport leading, 22-19, with three minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Teopaco was in attendance Thursday night and sat on the Jackson Liberty bench, according to coach Don Connor.

Sophomore Darius Applewhite added 16 points, senior Mike Nichols scored 10 and senior Ryan Burns pitched in eight for Keyport.

Senior Charlie Callahan led Jackson Liberty with 13 points, while both senior Lukas Latvys and freshman Aidan Kelly added 11 and junior Jesse Renouf 10 in the loss.
