Each week, Shore Sports Network nominates a group of players as the Shore Sports Network Player of the Week, sponsored by Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey, and the SSN readers will have a chance to pick the winner. Below are the players of the week from the six Shore Conference divisional, plus two wild card candidates from which to choose for this week's honor. Voting ends at midnight on Wednesday.

Class A North Player of the Week

Eddie Morales, Howell

The junior two-sport standout (Morales is the quarterback on the Rebels’ football team) helped Howell beat Jackson Memorial with a 15-point effort on Monday and hit a clutch three at the buzzer a day later to send a home game against Neptune into overtime.

Class A Central Player of the Week

Zach Moran, St. John Vianney

The Lancers have shown improvement over the course of the year and Moran’s emergence has a lot to do with it. The junior put up 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a win over Shore, then went off for 25 points and 13 boards in a win over Princeton. He also scored 12 points in a Senior Night loss to Newark Central.

Class A South Player of the Week

Shane Williams, Brick

The Green Dragons won three games last week to extend their winning streak to six games and it was Williams leading the way. The sophomore averaged 24 points per game for the week, including 35 points in a win over Keansburg. He also posted 19 points and 11 rebounds against Toms River East and 18 and eight in a 56-55 win over Toms River South.

Class B North Player of the Week

Rob Higgins, Middletown North

The Lions are coming on strong thanks to Higgins, who is now second in the Shore Conference in scoring a just over 21 points per game. That average climbed over 21 thanks to a huge week, which included a career-high 41 points in a win over Middletown South. He also added nine rebounds and five assists in that game, then poured in 30 points in a loss to Newark East Side – currently the No. 5 team in N.J. Higgins got the week started with 17 points and nine assists in a big win over Long Branch as well.

Class B Central Player of the Week

Dave Calloway, St. Rose

St. Rose went 3-0 this week with wins over Holmdel, Henry Hudson and Raritan. Calloway had big performances for the Purple Roses, including 21 points against Hudson and 25 in the win over Raritan on Saturday. The junior hit four of his five threes against Raritan Saturday in the second half.

Class B South Player of the Week

Adi Palmer, Lakewood

After playing as the third scoring option last year, Palmer has emerged as an all-around offensive weapon, evidenced by his play last week. The senior scored a career-high 33 points in a 58-35 win over Manchester and did it on 14-for-19 shooting from the field – including 5-for-8 from beyond the thre-point arc. Palmer also scored 18 points to go with seven rebounds three assists and three steals in a rout of Jackson Liberty.

Wild Cards

Jake Regan, Toms River South

The senior scored a team-high 15 points on Monday to help the Indians upset Central, 42-37.

L.J. Robinson, Manchester

Robinson joined the 1,000-point club on Friday during the first half of a 57-43 win over Barnegat. He finished the game with 25 points.
