Highlights
- Jackson Liberty senior Anthony Urso defeated St. Peter's Prep's Salvatore Borrometi, 2-1, to win the 113-pound title. Borrometi placed third in the state at 106 pounds last season. In the semifinals, Urso defeated Point Boro's Joey DeAngelo, 3-1, after losing to DeAngleo three times previously this season. Urso was selected as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
- Wall senior Donovan DiStefano, Brick Memorial junior Harvey Ludington, and Donovan Catholic senior Kurt Wehner each won their third region titles. DiStefano is the fourth wrestler in program history to win three region titles (Nick Roy, Brett Donner, Rob Kanniard) and Ludington is the ninth wrestler in Brick Memorial history to win three region titles (Bill Scott, Vinnie Santaniello, Todd Palmisano, Marc Rosenfeld, Nick Rivera, Gianni Ghione, Vincent Santaniello (4x), Anthony Santaniello (4x)). Wehner is the only wrestler in program history with more than one region title.
- Ocean senior James Farina won his first region title by defeating St. Peter's Prep two-time state medalist Jonathan Fuller in the 150-pound final. Fuller finished 4th at 132 in 2022 and 5th at 144 last season.
- Colts Neck's Ethan Michaels, Donovan Catholic's Sawyer Ostroff, Point Boro's Ryan Acquisto, and Brick Memorial's Ben Szuba each won their first region titles. Michaels won his title on the same day his brother, Noah, a senior at Red Bank Catholic, won the Region 5 title at 120 pound
- Asbury Park senior heavyweight Iquann Crawford finished fourth to become the Blue Bishops' first state qualifier since 2018.
