Each week, Shore Sports Network recognizes the top performers in Shore Conference Baseball and gives the fans a chance to choose the best of the best. Below are the six Players of the Week in each of the six Shore Conference baseball divisions, plus four wild-card candidates. Read about their success from last week (April 17 though April 23) and vote for the player who stood out as the overall Player of the Week.

Vote once per hour in the poll at the bottom of this post until the poll closes Thursday at 10 p.m. The winner will be announced on Friday.

Class A North Player of the Week

Alex D’Ambrosio, Marlboro: Struck out 13 in a three-hitter and tripled in two runs in a win over Freehold Township while going 5-for-13 with a double, triple and five RBI at the plate for the week.

Class A Central Player of the Week

Joey Esposito, Monmouth: At the plate, Esposito went 6-for-11 with two doubles and four RBI and pitched a clutch seventh inning to pick up the win over Raritan, which ended with a walk-off finish in the bottom of the seventh.

Class A South Player of the Week

Charlie Meglio, Jackson Memorial: The most dominant force at the plate in the Shore Conference this season, Meglio crushed four homers and drove in 14 runs last week – including a game-winning grand slam in a two-homer game vs. St. Joseph of Metuchen.

Will Reyes, Long Branch: Long Branch’s offense has picked up lately and Reyes had a strong week, going 6-for-13 with two doubles, a triple and five RBI while also tossing 5 2/3 scoreless innings vs. Carteret.

Class B South Player of the Week

Connor Cilento, Point Boro: On top of going 5-for-9 with a triple, homer, three RBI and five runs scored in a 2-1 week for the Panthers, Cilento broke Point Boro’s all-time stolen base record.

Wild Cards

Dom Masino, Central: Totally tore it up last week by going 9-for-14 with a double, three home runs, eight runs scored and four RBI.

A.J. Pierson, Toms River South: Notched a complete-game victory vs. Brick while going 2-for-2 with three RBI at the plate.

Jack Tiernan, St. Rose: Struck out seven in five scoreless, two-hit innings while going 2-for-3 with two RBI in St. Rose’s 5-0 win over St. John Vianney in the first round of the Monmouth County Tournament.

Jack Tallent, Ranney: Tallent just keeps hitting and last week, he went 6-for-13 with two doubles, a homer and six RBI.
