South Jersey Group 1

(2) Delaware Valley 2, (1) Point Beach 1 (13-25, 25-7, 25-21)

After dropping the first set, the Terriers (16-7) rallied to dominate the second set before holding off a comeback bid in the third and deciding stanza to defeat the Garnet Gulls (16-13) and claim their third consecutive sectional championship.

Down by as many as seven points in the third set, Point Beach fought back to tie the score at 20 on two straight service points by junior middle blocker Lucia Robinson and a set-tying kill by junior Celia Frizzell. Delaware Valley pulled ahead on a kill by senior Josie Lavigna and did not relinquish the lead the rest of the way, denying Point Beach its first sectional title for the third straight season.
