CLASS A NORTH

Freehold 48, Marlboro 32

Junior quarterback Ashante Worthy ran for six touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass to Markee Gill to fuel the Colonials (3-4, 2-4), who won their third straight game by defeating the Mustangs (2-5, 0-5).

 

CLASS B SOUTH

Lacey 28, Donovan Catholic 14

Junior quarterback Coleton Klauss threw a pair of touchdown passes and junior running Jason Giresi found the end zone twice to lead the Lions (5-2, 4-2) past the Griffins (0-7, 0-5).

Klaus threw a 31-yard touchdown to Giresi and a 52-yard score to Cory Gudzak. Giresi also scored on short run. Senior wide receiver Chase Stephensen threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Miick on a trick play.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 10 Brick 46, Lakewood 6

Senior John Prato ran for three touchdowns and the Dragons (5-2) had three defensive touchdowns to blitz the Piners (4-2).

Prato scored on runs of 34, 15 and 19 yards in getting the start at quarterback for injured senior Anthony Costanza. Prato also had a blocked punt that set up a 20-yard touchdown run by Ja'Sir Taylor. Sophomore Jimmy Leblo returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown, Joey Carchio brought a fumble back 74 yards for a score and senior Jay Obenauer recovered two fumbles, including one he brought back 82 yards for a score.

Zyhier Jones threw a 13-yard touchdown to Adi Palmer in the loss for Lakewood.

 

Central 28, Colts Neck 7

Senior running back Mike Bickford ran for three touchdowns to power the Golden Eagles (6-1) past the Cougars (1-6).

 

Mater Dei Prep 41, Holmdel 0

 

 

NONCONFERENCE

Keansburg 20, South River 12

Sophomore running back Liam Riecks ran for 207 yards on 27 carries and also threw a touchdown pass, and junior quarterback Danny Vital had two total touchdowns to lead the Titans (2-5) past the Rams (2-5) for their second straight win.

Vital ran for a 23-yard touchdown and connected with senior wide receiver Mina Mansuer for a 29-yard touchdown on fourth and 20. Riecks threw a 35-yard touchdown to junior wide out Darius Moore. Vital finished with 79 yards rushing on 12 carries.

 

Keyport 37, Metuchen 0

Greg Robinson, Jay Hansen, Devin Wollner and Skye Blanks each scored rushing touchdowns, the Red Raiders (6-1) scored twice on special teams and the defense recorded its first shutout of the season in a win over the Bulldogs (1-5).

Joey Kay-Flagg recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for Keyport's first toucvhdown. Robinson's touchdown made it 14-0 and a safety after Metuchen snapped a punt into the end zone and landed on it put the Raiders up 16-0. Christian Smith and Zack Walker had interceptions.
