Sophomore Jacob Ramirez hit a three-run home run in the top of the first inning and freshman Rocko Brzezniak and senior Luciano Fabrizzi each went deep during St. John Vianney's eight-run sixth inning that secured a Lancers win over the Griffins.
Brzezniak's two-run home run to center field was his seventh home run of the season. Fabrizzi followed later in the inning with a three-run shot to left that capped a four-hit, four-RBI day for the senior third baseman.
St. John Vianney will travel to play No. 1 seed St. Augustin Friday in the South Non-Public A quarterfinals.

Freshman Brett Wehringer went 1-for-3 with two RBI and pitched the final 5 2/3 innings to earn the win as the Panthers (11-8) outlasted Moorestown Friends (8-9) to advance to the sectional semifinal round Friday against top-seeded Gloucester Catholic.
Wehringer took over for starter Ethan Gavin with one out in the second inning and allowed run on three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Senior Ben Kraushaar also went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI while classmate Jacob Field connected for a solo home run in the Ranney win.

Senior Evan Peeke knocked in a run with an RBI single and sophomore Tommy Turnbach struck out 10 while allowing just two earned runs in a five-hitter, but the Iron Mikes (12-8) edged the Purple Roses (2-18) to move on to the sectional quarterfinals.
