Coming out of the bye week we wanted to keep the momentum going that we gained from our Homecoming win against Cornell.  We had another great challenge last Saturday playing against Sacred Heart University.  The game didn't go the way we had hoped and we came up short losing in a close battle, 24-21.

We were not in sync as a team all day long.  It seemed like when our defense was getting stops, we wouldn't be able to score.  Then when the offense would put points on the board, our defense would give up a score right back.  It's always a struggle to win a game in that fashion when you don't feel as if you are in rhythm with your team.  Not being able to feed off of your own team’s momentum is huge, especially when you are playing against a 7-2 football team with a lot of confidence.  We had an opportunity to knock off the top team in the Northeast Conference and we just didn't make enough plays to win.

We realize with only three games left that the only way we can finish above .500 is if we win the last three games of our season, which would leave us at a 7-5 record.  This is our new focus moving forward to finish the season on a three-game winning streak.  We have to take it one game at a time, and as usual none of the games will be an easy win.

This week we travel to Staten Island to play Wagner.  Wagner is a team that has been a rival of ours since I could remember.  We have played Wagner in every season since the program started.

When looking at Wagner from a far you see that they have a very poor record this year.  That record is very deceiving because they have played great teams like Syracuse and Delaware.  So the team knows that this is a very tough and talented team that we will be playing.

Also this is Wagner’s Senior Day so we are going to be ready for a team playing with a lot of passion and emotion; we are going to have to match that emotion on Saturday.  Check us out as kickoff will be at 12:00 PM!
