Shore Conference Tournament

First Round

10-Barnegat 12, 7-Wall 10

Ricky Gerena scored twice and assisted on five other goals, and J.J. McKenna scored three times as the Bengals (11-0) stunned the Crimson Knights (9-4) to win their first Shore Conference Tournament game in program history. Ethan Tonneson, Ryan Reynolds and Matt Manno each scored twice and Matt Grobelny made 10 saves to power the victory.

Kyle Critchlow scored a game-high six goals, including the 100th of his career, to lead Wall. Kyle McDonough notched two goals and two assists and Bruno Setteducati had a goal to go along with three assists.

Barnegat will face No. 2 Southern Regional in the quarterfinals.

 

13-Lacey 11, 4-Red Bank Catholic 8

Ronald Stawinski scored a game-high six goals and Pat Moore had two goals and three assists as the Lions (12-3) shocked the Caseys (10-6) to win their first Shore Conference Tournament game in program history. Ryan Mahon added a goal and an assist, and Connor Wilson and Zach Tripet also tallied for Lacey. Dan Cannon had three assists and Pat Quinn had two assists, while Kyle Fisher made 11 saves in goal. Tied at six after three quarters, Lacey scored five times in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Ryan Coolahan led RBC with four goals and one assist. Tim Barile had a goal and three assists, including his 100th career point, and Mike Oristano finished with a goal and an assist. Matt Benjamin made 11 saves.

The Lions will face No. 12 Colts Neck, which stunned No. 5 Holmdel, 5-4, in the quarterfinals.

 

2-Southern 14, 15-Toms River South 1

Shawn McManus tallied five goals and and two assist, Dylan Jinks notched four goals and two assists and Brendan Mullen finished with two goals and four assists as the Rams (13-1) cruised into the Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinals with a win over the Indians (5-6). Nick Simonelli, Billy Dowd, Chris Smith and Adam Eastburn also scored for Southern, while Brendan Lefanto made 10 saves to backstop the win.

The Rams will host 10th-seeded Barnegat in the SCT quarterfinals on Thursday.

 

8-Manasquan 9, 9-Freehold Township 5

Senior Blaine Birch fired in a game-high six goals to lead the Warriors (10-3) past the Patriots (7-5). Manasquan will play at top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven in Thursday's quarterfinal round.

 

12-Colts Neck 5, 5-Holmdel 4

Rob Fierro and Andrew Anzalone scored twice as the Cougars (8-4) built a 5-2 lead in the first half and held on to shock the Hornets (9-4) and advance to the quarterfinals of the Shore Conference Tournament. Rob Keller also scored for Colts Neck while Andrew Halmi made 15 saves to preserve the win.

Matt Dixon scored twice for Holmdel and Justin Ruiz stopped 15 shots.

Thanks to Lacey's upset of fourth-seeded Red Bank Catholic, the Cougars will host the Lions on Thursday with a spot in the SCT final four on the line.

 

6-Red Bank 9, 11-St. John Vianney 7

Jake Smolokoff scored three times and George Zackman and Dan Vilardi each tallied twice to lead the Bucs (11-5) past the Lancers (8-6) and into the SCT quarterfinals. Brayden Seely added a goal and two assists.

Dan Louriero's three-point outing paced St. John Vianney.

Red Bank will travel to Middletown to take on third-seeded CBA in the quarterfinal round on Thursday. CBA edged Red Bank, 11-9, this past Saturday with a four-goal rally in the fourth quarter.
