Shore Conference Tournament

Quarterfinals

12-Colts Neck 11, 13-Lacey 9

Andrew Anzalone scored all three of his goals during a five-goal second-quarter run, and Anthony Gargiulo and Alex Peltzman each scored twice as the Cougars (9-4) continued their Cinderella run by holding off the Lions (12-4) to reach the semifinals of the Shore Conference Tournament. Rob Fierro added a goal and three assists and Alex Glickman had a goal and two assists to round out a balanced offensive attack. Sophomore Andrew Halmi made nine saves, including five in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.

R.J. Stawinski scored three times for Lacey with Pat Quinn and Pat Moore each notching two goals and one assist. Kyle Fisher made 15 saves, including nine in the third quarter to keep the Lions within striking distance.

Colts Neck is the lowest seed to ever reach the SCT semifinals and will face top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Monmouth University.

 

2-Southern 11, 10-Barnegat 2

Dylan Jinks and Brendan Mullen each scored four goals and added two assists, and Shawn McManus added a pair of tallies to lead the Rams (14-1) to their 14th consecutive victory and a return trip to the SCT semifinals. Chris Smith contributed a goal and an assist and Brendan Lefanto made 11 saves in goals. Jinks reached 70 goals this season to set a new program record.

Ethan Tonneson and Ryan Reynolds scored for Barnegat (11-1), while Matt Grobelny made 12 saves.

Southern will face third-seeded CBA in a rematch of a semifinal contest from last season (won by Southern) at noon on Saturday at Monmouth University.

 

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 18, 8-Manasquan 4

Colin Shea and Dominic Padula each fired in three goals and added two assists as the defending SCT champion Bulldogs (12-3) pummeled the Warriors (10-4) to reach the semifinals. Robbie Garavante scored twice and had three assists, and Chris Sutphen, Henry Sillen and Lucas Seckler each scored twice to lead Rumson's season-high scoring output. Chris Hubler added a pair of assists and Ryan Campbell had a game-high 12 ground balls.

Rumson will play No. 12 seed Colts Neck in the SCT semifinals at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Monmouth University.

 

3-CBA 13, 6-Red Bank 4

The Colts (12-2) scored five goals in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Bucs (10-6) and reach the SCT semifinals. They will take on No. 2 Southern at noon on Saturday at Monmouth University.

Brick Memorial 12, Marlboro 6

Griffin Carney had four goals and two assists and Dylan Visser fired in three goals with four assists to lead Brick Memorial (6-7) past Marlboro (5-9). C.J. Guarino made 11 saves.
