Freshman Linsey Cribbin from Toms River South has had a great start to her high school career on both sides of the floor, helping the Indians win five of their first six games. Cribbin has averaged just over 11 points per game and 3 steals per game leading up to the new year.

Her performance in the WOBM Christmas Classic helped TRS reach the championship game as the No. 15 seed and is why she was selected by the fans as the Player of the Week.

Cribbin scored 12 points In the opening round against No. 11 Point Pleasant Beach, but made a bigger impact on the defensive side of the floor with a career-high 6 steals. In the semifinal game she scored a game-high 12 points, but also grabbed a career-high 9 rebounds to help the Indians defeat Middletown North 41-37.

In the championship game, Cribbin tied a career-high 14 points and went 6 out of 8 from the foul-line in a defeat to Central Regional. In the tournament she averaged 12.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 4.3 steals per game.

Cribbin collected 51.8 percent of the votes casted for the Week 1 fan voted Player of the Week award. Keansburg's Gabriella Flanzbaum finished in second with 42.1 percent of the vote.

As the first fan voted Player of the Week, Cribbin will receive one recovery session at Thrive Spine and Sports Rehab.
