Navy seems like a fitting place for Kristina Donza to continue her academic and basketball pursuits considering how the 5-9 senior guard has been such a reliable anchor for Jackson Memorial.

No opponent has yet to hatch a scheme that can contain Donza, who committed to the Naval Academy in July. Her combination of power, nimble elusiveness and delicate perimeter stroke speaks to an offensive versatility that's generating 25.5 points per game and earned her Shore Sports Network Girls Basketball Player of the Week and a $25 gift card to Surf Taco.

Donza has scored no less than 22 points in each of the first eight games for the Jaguars (8-2), who sit atop the A South with a 4-0 mark, tied with defending division champion Toms River North. Her contributions span further than just her expertise at putting the ball in the basket.

She is clearing 8.3 rebounds, handing out 2.1 assists and getting 1.2 steals per contest. She dropped in 26 points and cleared 15 boards in a 54-36 decision against Toms River East and netted 26 to go with eight rebounds on Saturday in a 56-51 loss to South Jersey power Gloucester Catholic.
