I first met Geoff Brown in November of 1999 when he was introduced as General Manager of what would be a new minor league baseball team in Lakewood. At that time the team did not have a name or even a stadium and they were working out of temporary offices in the Lakewood Industrial Park.
Minor League Baseball's best will be converging on the Jersey Shore next year as the Lakewood Blue Claws host the 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star Game.
Today is the 11th anniversary of the very first game played by the Lakewood BlueClaws and I was among those who was in Kannapolis, North Carolina for that historic occasion covering the opener for WOBM.
