Monday's Game

Southern 19, Lacey 7

Pat Walker ran for a pair of touchdowns and Ryan Winkler added a touchdown run as the Rams (4-3, 3-3) picked up a win over the Lions (1-7, 0-6).

Conor Davies threw a touchdown pass to Mike Bocchini in the loss for Lacey.

Sunday's Games

Class A North

No. 2 Manalapan 42, No. 6 Freehold 0

Senior tailback Imamu Mayfield ran for 172 yards and three touchdowns to lead the way against his former team as the Braves (7-1, 5-0) clinched at least a tie for their fifth straight division title by handing the Colonials (7-1, 4-1) their first loss. Manalapan can clinch the title outright with a win over Howell this week.

Senior Dan Debner added an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and senior quarterback Dan Anerella threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to wideout Gerard Hodge-Rocourt and a 12-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brian Conforth in the win.

Matt Curcio kicked a 27-yard field goal and tailback Josh Dixon had 125 yards rushing in the loss for Freehold.

Howell 39, Marlboro 20

Senior running back Jarvis Leaks erupted for a career-high 281 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 23 carries to lead the Rebels (2-6, 1-4) past the Mustangs (0-8, 0-6).

Saturday's Games

Class A South

No. 9 Brick Memorial 15, Toms River South 6

Matt Cathey and Connor Owen each ran for second-half touchdowns as the Mustangs (5-3, 4-2) came back from a 6-0 halftime deficit to beat the Indians (3-4, 2-4) in their quest to cement a high seed and a first-round home game in South Jersey Group V.

No. 8 Jackson Memorial 41, Toms River East 14

Sophomore running back Mike Gawlik scored a career-high four touchdowns, all in the first half, and junior tailback Vinny Lee added a pair of touchdown runs in the second half as the Jaguars (7-1, 6-1) won their fourth straight game by rolling past the Raiders (0-8, 0-6).

Freshman Tommy Ferrante and Randy Martinez each had touchdown runs in the loss for Toms River East.

Class B North

Neptune 27, No. 4 Long Branch 0

The Scarlet Fliers (5-2, 5-1) ended a six-game winning streak by the Green Wave (6-2, 3-2) with a dominant defensive performance that included an 88-yard interception return for a touchdown by senior Cameron Calderon as they stifled the Shore Conference's leading rusher, Dahmiere Willis, who entered with six straight 200-yard rushing games, by holding him to only 17 yards on 16 carries.

Senior quarterback Royal Moore ran for a 3-yard touchdown and threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to senior O'Shane Curate, and senior running back Jaree Parrish had a 72-yard touchdown run in the win, which gave a huge boost to Neptune's state playoff hopes. Moore and Parrish each finished with 100 yards rushing in the win.

The defense posted its second straight shutout and held Long Branch to 58 total yards.

Class B Central

Asbury Park 8, Keansburg 6

Senior quarterback Sal Swain threw a touchdown pass to Nyezaire Jones in the second quarter and the Blue Bishops (2-5, 2-2) held on in the final seconds to beat the host Titans (1-7, 0-4).

Keansburg scored with 23 seconds left in the game, but Asbury Park came up with a stop on a two-point conversion attempt to seal the win.

Nonconference

Metuchen 28, Keyport 0

The Red Raiders (1-7) were blanked by the Bulldogs (5-2) in a nonconference game as Josh Hall ran for a pair of touchdowns for Metuchen.
