Class A South

No. 8 Jackson Memorial 37, Toms River South 27

Sophomore running back Mike Gawlik ran for three touchdowns of 5, 7, and 3 yards and also had an interception on defense to help the Jaguars (6-1, 5-1) pick up a win over the Indians (3-3, 2-3).

Senior quarterback Joe DeMaio added a 53-yard touchdown pass to wideout Kyle Johnson and a 9-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brody Graham in the win.

Senior quarterback Tymere Berry threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Sosa and a 30-yard scoring strike to Jaden Kosh in the loss for Toms River South. Senior running back Khaleel Greene added touchdown runs of 53 and 43 yards.

Class B North

Ocean 14, Red Bank 6

Sophomore quarterback Kenny Pickett threw a touchdown pass to senior Frank Henry and T.J. Saldutti had a forced fumble on a sack that he returned for a score to help the Spartans (2-4, 2-2) get a win over the Bucs (2-4, 2-3).

Junior Sadiq Palmer had a kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game in the loss for Red Bank.

Nondivisional

No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 35, No. 2 Manalapan 7

The Caseys (7-0) won their 39th straight game against Shore Conference competition and ended a 30-game streak against Shore teams by the Braves (6-1) as junior quarterback Eddie Hahn threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half, including three passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns to senior wideout Nick Lubischer, for a 21-7 halftime lead on the way to the win.

Senior running back Nick Cella added a 37-yard touchdown run, senior tailback Tommy Spernal chipped in with an 18-yard scoring run, and senior running back Mike Cordova had a 6-yard touchdown run in the win. Senior defensive end Doug Zockoll registered four sacks to give him a Shore Conference-high 11 for the season.

Senior quarterback Dan Anerella threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to wideout Gerard Hodge-Rocourt in the loss for Manalapan.

No. 5 Middletown South 24, No. 9 Brick Memorial 21

Junior Matt Mosquera nailed the game-winning 22-yard field goal with 1.8 seconds left in regulation for his Shore Conference-best sixth field goal of the season as the Eagles (5-2) rallied for 10 points in the final two minutes to edge the Mustangs (4-3).

Mosquera, who is also the quarterback, threw for 267 yards and a touchdown in the win. Wideout Tom Coffey had 7 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown, all in the second half, to power the comeback. Sophomore James McCarthy scored on a 3-yard run with 1:48 left in the game to help tie it at 21 for the Eagles.

Junior quarterback Tim Santiago ran for a pair of touchdowns in the loss for Brick Memorial.

No. 10 Rumson-FH 33, Lakewood 12

Senior tailback Charlie Volker erased his own single-game school record with a 328 yards rushing and three touchdowns, including an 81-yarder, on 26 carries to send the Bulldogs (4-2) past the Piners (4-2).

Junior defensive back Connor Kelly added an interception return for a touchdown and sophomore quarterback Mike O'Connor ran for a score in Rumson's win.

Senior quarterback Chapelle Cook ran for touchdowns of 1 and 31 yards in the loss for Lakewood.

No. 4 Long Branch 40, Matawan 28

Senior tailback Dahmiere Willis erupted for a school-record 370 yards rushing, the highest total in the Shore this season, along with four touchdowns to give him a Shore Conference-high 1,800 yards rushing for the season as the Green Wave (6-1) won their sixth straight behind the sixth straight game of 200-plus yards by Willis.

No. 3 St. John Vianney 65, Donovan Catholic 17

The Lancers (7-0) remained unbeaten by rolling past the Griffins (0-7) as senior Dan Calabro had a pair of offensive touchdowns as well as an interception return for a score and junior quarterback Anthony Brown threw three touchdown passes and ran for another to help lead the way.

Junior Khalil Haskins ran for one score and returned a punt for another one, junior Calvin Beaty had a touchdown on the ground, senior Aaron Mora added a rushing touchdown, and junior Jeff Sheard had a touchdown catch in the win.

Raritan 24, Pt. Boro 7

Junior tailback Derek Ernst ran for three touchdowns of 1, 44 and 4 yards as the Rockets (3-3) got back to the .500 mark with a win over the Panthers (3-4).

Senior quarterback Riley Sullivan added a 61-yard touchdown pass to Nick Pasquin in the win.

Jack Fitzsimmons had a one-yard touchdown run in the loss for Point Boro.

Holmdel 30, Pinelands 22

Sophomore quarterback Aneesh Agrawal threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to help the Hornets (2-4) knock off the Wildcats (1-6).

Steve Walier and Zach Bair each had touchdown catches and senior linebacker Frank Condito had a forced fumble that he returned for a score in the win.

Jaylin Roman ran for a pair of touchdowns, including a 55-yarder, and Jake Stuerze had a 50-yard touchdown run in the loss for Pinelands.

Nonconference

Dunellen 65, Asbury Park 18

Nassan Anderson ran for 220 yards and four touchdowns as the Destroyers (6-1) routed the Blue Bishops (1-5).

Senior quarterback Sal Swain threw for 215 yards and tossed a pair of touchdown passes of 24 and 61 yards to junior wideout Jaedon Stephens in the loss for Asbury Park. Charles Sanders also had a 5-yard touchdown run.

Monroe 34, Howell 7

The Rebels (1-6) led 7-6 at halftime before being overwhelmed by the Falcons (5-2).

New Brunswick 27, Freehold Twp. 21 (OT) 

A 25-yard touchdown pass from Trevon Blakey to Maurice Ffrench for the Zebras (3-4) in overtime was the game-winner to put a dent in the playoff hopes of the Patriots (3-4).

Junior quarterback Jack O'Brien threw two touchdown passes to tight end Kyle Fenton, including a 20-yarder with only 47 seconds left in regulation that tied it up at 21 for Freehold Township. A miscue on the snap and hold on a field goal try in overtime left the door open for New Brunswick, which ran for 280 yards in the win.

Shore 35, South River 0

Senior Mike Moore ran for a pair of touchdowns, including a 55-yarder, as the Blue Devils (5-1) blanked the Rams (2-5).

Quarterback Ryan Campi added a 3-yard touchdown run, junior fullback Doug Goldsmith had a rushing touchdown, and Tyreek McCain scored on a 50-yard run in the win.

Pt. Beach 34, Highland Park 15

Senior running back Mike Frauenheim had 145 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 19 carries and also had two interceptions on defense to help the Garnet Gulls (5-2) pick up a win over the Owls (0-6).

Senior quarterback Jake Fioretti added a touchdown pass to Kent Napoliello in the win.
