Ahmir Wiggins, Monmouth

Monmouth got back on the winning track during Week 5 and it was Wiggins who elevated his game to help the Falcons do so.

That win broke up a 1-3 stretch by the Falcons that included losses to Henry Hudson (14-2), Shore (12-3) and Red Bank (14-3) -- teams with a cumulative 40-8 record that combined to be Monmouth by an average of nine points.

Two days after beating Keyport, Monmouth made it a winning streak with a 48-35 win over rival Ocean. Wiggins was again the offensive catalyst, scoring 19 points to lead the Falcons.

Wiggins has been even better during the current week when it comes to scoring the ball against quality competition. He poured in 25 points against Toms River South (11-5) in a three-point loss, the went for 27 in an overtime loss to Donovan Catholic (11-3).

His recent hot streak comes after a six-game stretch in which Wiggins averaged six points, which came after he opened the season with 70 points in his first four games (17.5 per game).

Wiggins collected nearly double the vote total of the runner-up in this week's poll, raking in 36 percent of the vote. CBA's Kevin Pikiell pulled in 19.5 to edge out third-place Jamari Smith of Barnegat (19 percent).
