Thrive Fan Vote Week 4 Shore Conference Player of the Week

Sean Collins, Brick Memorial

The Mustangs started their week by beating a tough Lacey squad, 49-43, with Collins leading the scoring effort. The sophomore went for 15 points, but his best was yet to come.

The following night, Collins turned in a career-best scoring effort that kept Brick Memorial locked into a close battle with rival Brick -- one that would go down to the wire and then some. Collins poured in a career-high 29 points in a triple-overtime classic, but the best scoring game of his young career ended with a sour taste in his and his teammates' mouths after Brick stunned the Mustangs, 70-64, in overtime for their first win of the season.

Collins is averaging an even 12 points per game this season, which leads Brick Memorial. Since Jan. 1, Collins has been even better, averaging 18.3 points in six games, including 23.7 in his team's last three.

Collins pulled away with the Week 4 award with 26 percent of the vote, while four other nominees cleared 11 percent: Marlboro's Steve Scimone (15.4 percent), Wall's Andrew Olsen (15.3), Brick's Mike Sullivan (14) and Freehold Boro's Qua'Mir Everett (11.9). Scimone beat out Olsen for second place by a single vote.

As the fan's choice for Player of the Week, Collins will receive a free recovery session courtesy of Thrive.
