Luca Dalatri struck out 14 in a two-hit shutout and accounted for the only runs of the game with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth as the Colts beat the Braves to advance to the quarterfinals Wednesday against No. 9 Middletown North. Dalatri has won 27 straight decisions dating back to the beginning of his sophomore year.

For Manalapan, Chris Rodriguez reach on an infield single in the second and was erased on a double play and Mike Mollica singled through the left side to lead off the sixth before being stranded at second base.

Dalatri did not throw three balls to any one batter and reached a two-ball count just three times all game. He threw first-pitch strikes to 20 of the 22 batters he faced and never fell behind 2-1 in any count. In total, Dalatri threw 69 of his 85 pitches for strikes.

With his 14 strikeouts and zero walks, Dalatri has now struck out 92 this season while walking only two. He improved to 7-0 with Saturday's win and lowered his season ERA to 0.15. Dalatri is now two wins shy of matching Toms River East alumni Casey Gaynor as the Shore Conference's all-time wins leader with 34 wins.

Tom Holdorf ignited a five-run second inning with a three-run double and pitched the final four innings to earn the win as the Colonials knocked off the No. 3 Mariners on the road. Freehold Boro will head back to Toms River on Wednesday to face No. 6 Toms River North in the SCT quarterfinal round.

Holdorf finished 2-for-4 with four RBI after adding an RBI single in the fourth and came on to pitch four scoreless innings in relief of Steve Rullo.

Tyler Ras pitched a three-hitter and the Lions broke open a one-run game with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to down the Lancers and advance to the SCT quarterfinals Wednesday at top-seeded CBA.

Walter Schopf knocked in the first Middletown North run with an RBI single in the second inning and Mike Mercier and Garret French each had a run-scoring hit in the sixth - Mercier on a double.

Tom Campo doubled home the go-ahead run in a three-run fifth inning and the Toms River South offense awoke late in support of starter Justin Fall as the Indians topped the Green Dragons for the fourth time in four meetings this season. Toms River South will host No. 14 Freehold Boro on Wednesday.

Trevor Wagner crushed an RBI triple off the left-centerfield fence to stretch the lead to 3-1 in the fifth and Tyler Wisnewski added an RBI single in the sixth. Matt Shiffer's squeeze bunt in the fifth pushed across Mike Conover and tied the score at 1.

Trevor Rowe plated John Prato with an RBI single in the top of the first to stake Brick and starter Tito Morales to a 1-0 lead. Fall then settled in and went the distance for his fifth win of the season while remaining unbeaten.
