Keansburg senior Tyree Sutton defeated Moorestown senior Tyreek Smith, 9-3 at 220 pounds, in the featured bout of the dual. Smith is a two-time state medalist (eighth at 195 in 2013 and eighth at 220 in 2014) and is ranked No. 1 in the state at 220 pounds by NJ.com. Sutton, the sixth-place finisher in the state tournament at 195 pounds last season, is ranked No. 2 in the state at 195 pounds while also being ranked 16th/12th nationally by InterMat/FloWrestling.
