Ken Bradley, Sr., 195, Jackson Memorial
Bradley went 4-0 during the week to run his season record to 15-1 and remain ranked No. 2 at 195 pounds by theshoreconference.com. He won by major decision in a win over crosstown rival Jackson Liberty last Monday before bumping up to 220 and defeating Brick Memorial's Tyler Poling, the Region VI runner-up at 220 last season, by a 6-5 decision on Wednesday. During a tri-meet on Saturday, Bradley won by major decision and technical fall when the No. 4 Jaguars topped state-ranked South Plainfield, 22-20, and then edged No. 9 Wall, 28-26. The Jaguars are currently 8-1 this season and could enter the various state rankings after a solid week.
Divisional Wrestlers of the Week
Class A North
Nick Ottaviano, Sr., 126, Colts Neck: Ottaviano picked up a huge individual win on Saturday when he pinned Neptune's Nasiyr Brown, the Region VI runner-up and state eighth-place finisher at 113 pounds last season. Ottaviano is 16-1 this season.
Class A Central
Kyle Lynch, Sr., 182, Raritan: Lynch, the District 22 runner-up at 170 pounds last season, went 3-0 during the week to help the No. 5 Rockets defeat Middletown South, Passaic Valley and Delsea. Raritan defeated Delsea, 34-33 on criteria in a key Group II matchup, and Lynch scored a 5-2 decision over Victor Defrance, the Region VIII third-place finisher at 182 last season. Lynch is a perfect 19-0 this season.
Class A South (besides Bradley)
Dean Sherry, Jr., 170, Brick: Sherry improved to 17-0 and is ranked No. 2 at 170 pounds thanks to a 3-0 week that included pins in victories over Toms River North and Barnegat, and a 5-3 decision over Southern's Gerardo Jorge.
Class B North
Max Rallo, Sr., 120, Ocean: Rallo won by fall over Howell's Jimmy Slendorn and defeated Southern's Chris Crane, 6-4. He also won by major decision over Bishop Ahr's John Sheedy and Hunterdon Central's Hunter Orr to improve to 15-3.
Class B Central
Tim Klemser, So., 106, Shore: Klemser went 3-0 during the week and came up with a clutch pin in the second to last bout to clinch an eventual 34-33 win over Freehold. He is 13-2 on the season.
Class B South
Ryan Budzek, Sr., 132, Point Boro: The returning Region VI champion at 126 pounds went 4-0 during the week, including a 4-2 victory over Jackson Liberty's Matt Russo, the third-place finisher at 120 in the Region VI tournament last season, to help the Panthers take a major step toward securing the Class B South division title.
