CLASS A NORTH

*CBA wins on criteria, most bouts won, 8-6.

Dylan VanSickell defeated Dan Esposito 10-3 at 132 pounds in the final bout to tie the match at 27 and the Colts earned the tie-breaking point by virtue of winning the most bouts for a monster divisional victory. CBA's win halted Howell's 73-match Class A North winning streak that dated back to 2005.

CBA (3-2, 2-0) won the final four bouts to erase a 27-14 deficit and secure one of the biggest wins in program history. Sophomore Rich Koehler used a takedown late in the third period to defeat sophomore Kyle Slendorn 8-5 at 113 pounds, and that enabled the Colts to bump nationally-ranked senior Sebastian Rivera up to 126 pounds. Freshman Sam LaCorte won 5-0 over Eli Orford at 120 pounds to set up Rivera and VanSickell to close out the match.

CBA needed bonus points from either Rivera or VanSickell, and the Northwestern-bound Rivera delivered with an 8-0 major decision over Nick Ciaccia to bring the Colts within three points. All VanSickell needed to do was win, and the senior cruised to victory to tie the match at 27 and give the Colts their eighth win, which broke the tie.
