Fresh off their emphatic victory over Red Bank Catholic in Week 9, the Griffins of Donovan Catholic will be our featured guest on Wednesday night's Varsity Link Coaches Corner Football Show at The Office Restaurant & Lounge in Toms River.

Donovan Catholic head coach Dan Curcione, senior quarterback/defensive back Jalin Butler, and senior tight end/defensive end Levi Wilkins will join hosts Bob Badders and Ed Sarluca to talk all things Griffins football as they prepare for the state playoffs.

Last Friday, Donovan defeated Red Bank Catholic, 28-7, to hand the Caseys their first loss of the season and thrust themselves into the No. 1 ranking in the latest The Jeep Store/Shore Sports Network Football Top 10. The Griffins are 8-1 on the field (5-4 when accounting for three forfeits) and aiming to hold onto the top spot with RBC and Rumson-Fair Haven hot on their heels.

Butler has enjoyed a great season with 835 yards passing and 10 touchdowns against just two interceptions, plus 807 yards rushing and eight touchdowns as the Griffins' quarterback. Donovan's offense averages 33.8 points per game. On defense where he plays safety, Butler has 25 tackles, one sack, one interception, and five passes defended. Wilkins has 34 tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery for a Donovan defense that has yielded just 9.2 points per game. At tight end, Wilkins has eight catches or 134 yards and a touchdown.

The Griffins begin their postseason this Friday night when they host Notre Dame in the opening round of the NJSIAA Non-Public A playoffs.
