BRICK – A teenage boy was found unresponsive at the bottom of a lagoon early Saturday evening, according to the Brick Township Police Department.

The 15-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was swimming in a lagoon in the rear of 58 Toronto Drive with several friends. As the group was swimming and jumping around in the water, the teen went under water and did not resurface.

After five minutes, someone noticed that he was no longer with the group, and the entire group started searching for him.

The owner of the residence located the teen towards the bottom of the lagoon after several dives. He proceeded to pull him out of the water into a nearby boat and started to revive the boy.

Emergency personnel arrived shortly thereafter and continued life-saving efforts.

The teen was transported to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the response.

Officials have no update on the teen’s condition.
