Most of us who follow HS football know the shore won 3 Championships this season.

Thanksgiving Day Football is a dying tradition, with only 5 games being played this year on a cold sub-freezing Thursday morning.

Three State Championship games were played this past weekend, one each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the Shore walked away with two champions.

The semifinals of the NJSIAA football championships provided some interesting games as 9 games involving Shore teams were played under not so great weather conditions this past weekend.

24 teams started the quest to win a State Championship and a dozen are left after the first round.

24 teams have “qualified “ for the State playoffs this year.

Congrats to Joe Martucci who won his 200th football game as St John Vianney shut out Middletown South 9-0.

With 2 weeks remaining before the State playoffs begin there are still major questions to be answered.

With the new Shore Conference alignment, most division games were played in the first five weeks.

We have reached Week 5 of a quickly moving high school football season and it’s time to begin thinking about the state playoffs.

All 7 division races are becoming a little more clearer as we approach week 4/5 for most teams.

Let’s look at who is off to that quick start that makes the alumni happy.
