In what would have been their 20th season on the baseball diamond that was cancelled along with other affiliated teams by Minor League Baseball due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Lakewood BlueClaws can still celebrate a major milestone in 2020.
Games have been underway for nearly two weeks now in Ocean County's District 18 Little League and much of the proposed health and safety guidelines have taken shape with masks, social distancing and hand sanitation leading the charge.
The Covid-19 pandemic has become especially draining mentally for athletes and coaches with no practices or games to take part in right now or in the immediate future. They're now trying to find ways to prepare for an uncertain future.

Little League International in Pennsylvania, who have been monitoring the pandemic situation and adhering to advice from the CDC, are advising all local Little League programs across the U.S. to suspend/delay their season to not start until at least Monday, May 11.
