Former Wall and Rutgers standout Tim Wright, a tight end from the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, will return to Wall on June 26 with a one-day youth camp called "Friday Night Lights" at the 18th Avenue Complex.

The camp, which is $70 for those who pre-register online and $85 for walk-ups, will run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The camp is open to players ages seven through 18 and will include multiple NFL players as instructors, including several of Wright's former Rutgers teammates. The list of players includes Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Ka'lial Glaud, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quron Pratt, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Andrew Opoku, New England Patriots safety Duron Harman and fullback James Develin, and NFL free agents Brandon Jones and Marvin Booker.

The camp is under the umbrella of the recently-launched The Wright Way Academy, which was formed by Wright and his wife, Jodi-Ann, to give young people the tools to make positive choices, eat healthy, reject violence and achieve their goals on the field and in school to become positive influences in the community.

Wright's inspiring underdog story added a new chapter this past winter when he was part of the Patriots team that beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX. Wright joined the Patriots as a result of an in-season trade with Tampa Bay for offensive lineman Logan Mankins and finished with 26 catches for 259 yards and six touchdowns.

Wright grew up in Neptune and started his high school career there before transferring to Wall, where he became an All-Shore standout as a running back and wide receiver for the Crimson Knights. He went on to play wide receiver at Rutgers, where he finished his career with 50 catches for 596 yards and four touchdowns and received multiple academic awards.

His former Rutgers coach, Greg Schiano, gave him an NFL shot as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013 when Schiano was coaching the Bucs. Wright made the most of his opportunity, transitioning to tight end and catching 54 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season.
