Alston ran for 62 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, recovered a fumble for a touchdown, and recorded 11 tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss in Asbury Park's 26-18 Thanksgiving Day win over Neptune.
Davin Brewton, So., LB, Red Bank Catholic
Brewton was a sideline-to-sideline force with a game-high 18 tackles to help lead a Caseys' defense that spearheaded a 13-8 win over DePaul to claim the NJSIAA Non-Public B state championship.
Alex Brown, Sr., QB, Red Bank Catholic
Brown threw a touchdown pass in the first quarter, scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 2-yard run in the third quarter, and helped to knock down a last-second Hail Mary attempt as the Caseys defeated DePaul, 13-8, to win the NJSIAA Non-Public B state championship.
Davon Craft, So., RB, Neptune
The Scarlet Fliers lost to Asbury Park, 26-18, on Thanksgiving but Craft had an awesome game with 241 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 39 carries to cap a great sophomore season.
Jake Czwakiel, So., QB/DB/K, Middletown South
Czwakiel returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown and threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to senior starting quarterback Tom Schork as the Eagles won 27-7 over Middletown North on Thanksgiving.
Jhamier Howard, Jr., RB, Manasquan
Howard ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, including the go-ahead 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, to help Manasquan beat Shore Regional, 21-14, on Thanksgiving
Sekou Kamau, Jr., RB, Long Branch
Kamau ran for 160 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and caught two passes for 40 yards and a touchdown as Long Branch beat Red Bank, 29-14 on Thanksgiving, in the final game under head coach Danny George.
Javon King, Jr., LB, Asbury Park
King made nine tackles with two sacks and one tackle for loss in the Blue Bishop's 26-18 win over Neptune on Thanksgiving.
Cole Kozlowski, Sr., WR, Manasquan
Kozlowski concluded a great season and career with four catches for 71 yards and a touchdown as Manasquan defeated Shore Regional, 21-14, on Thanksgiving.
Jamie Mazzacco, Sr., QB/LB, Shore Regional
Mazzacco was his usual do-it-all self in a 21-14 loss to Manasquan on Thanksgiving with 113 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 27 carries, 97 yards passing, and 11 tackles.
Christian Ungemah, Jr., DB, Red Bank Catholic
Ungemah was great in the Caseys' 13-8 win over DePaul in the Non-Public B state championship game with two tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble among his six total stops.
