Every week this season, Shore Conference football fans will get their chance to vote for the Sport Clips Football Player of the Week on our website, with more than 100,000 votes already cast in the first four weeks.

The latest recipient of the fans’ voting is Toms River North junior tailback Asante Moorer. One of the top running backs in the Shore, Moorer has been voted by the fans as the Sport Clips Shore Conference Football Player of the Week for his performance in a wild, 44-34 Week Three victory over previously-ranked Toms River South in the 43rd edition of the "Civil War" rivalry game.

Moorer erupted for 200 yards rushing and four touchdowns on runs of 38, 7, 4 and 13 yards to power the comeback win. He scored the final two touchdowns of the game to help the Mariners (2-1) seal the victory and surpass their win total from all of last season while also bouncing back from a tough loss to Brick Memorial.

Moorer received 29.5 percent of the fans' vote to just edge out Manalapan senior Imamu Mayfield, who had 25 percent of the vote after a career-high 247 yards rushing and five touchdowns in a 64-28 nonconference win over Sayreville.
