Six Shore Football Players to be Honored at Mini Max Awards

A group of six Shore Conference players has been selected by the Maxwell Football Club to be honored for their achievements on the field and beyond.

The Maxwell Football Club, which presents some of college football's most prestigious awards, annually honors 50 players from New Jersey with Mini Max Awards. Honorees are selected based on their performance on the gridiron, in the classroom and in their communities. High school football coaches from around the state were allowed to nominate one student-athlete from their program who best represented the selection criteria.

The Shore Conference recipients are Colts Neck running back/linebacker Anthony Gargiulo, Howell linebacker Stephen Boncimino, Manalapan linebacker Chris Noesges, Matawan punter/kicker Mike Creamer, Raritan linebacker Tyler Jones, and Red Bank Catholic lineman Joe Castellano. Gargiulo, Noesges and Creamer were all Shore Sports Network first-team All-Shore selections, and Noesges was selected as the SSN Defensive Player of the Year. Jones was an All-Class A Central selection by the coaches.

The New Jersey Mini Max Awards Dinner will be held on Jan. 12 at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick. The dinner is open to the public and tickets can be purchased on the Maxwell Club website. At the conclusion of the ceremony the Maxwell Football Club will present one of the 50 Mini Max Award winners with the prestigious NJ Player of the Year Award. The winner will be eligible for the Jim Henry National Player of the Year Award to be announced at the Maxwell Football Club National Awards Gala on March 12 in Harrah's in Atlantic City.
