Shore Conference, NJ Ice Hockey Three Stars for Wednesday, Feb. 17
In an homage to a National Hockey League tradition dating back to the 1936-1937 season, Shore Sports Network will be selecting three standouts from each day of Shore Conference ice hockey. The Three Stars of the Day will be posted each morning for the previous day's games.
First Star
Jackson Liberty's entire team
It's been an incredibly trying season for the Jackson Liberty/Jackson Memorial/Point Boro ice hockey team. Multiple COVID-19 shutdowns have kept the Lions off the ice since the season began, but they were finally able to get their season going on Wednesday night and they delivered a 6-4 victory over Freehold. Here's hoping the team can play as many games as possible over the remaining few weeks of the season.
Second Star
Nate Block, Jr., Fwd., Middletown South
Block's scored on a spectacular end-to-end rush with 4.6 seconds left in the third period as Middletown South and Manasquan skated to a dramatic 2-2 tie, the second draw between the two teams in as many nights.
Third Star
Charlie Tallman, Jr., Fwd., Rumson-Fair Haven
Tallman scored twice and also had an assist to help the Bulldogs top Ridge Road rival Red Bank Regional, 6-1. Rumson is unbeaten at 4-0-2 on the season.
