North Division

No. 3 Middletown South 3, No. 2 St. John Vianney 3

Junior forward Nate Block netted the game-tying goal with 19 seconds left in the third period as the Eagles (3-1-1, 2-1-1) rallied to tie the Lancers (3-1-2, 0-1-2).

Block led all players with a goal and two assists while Aiden Cavendish and Michael Volpi each registered a goal and an assist for the Eagles. Junior goalie Jack Collings made 19 saves.

Junior forwards Luc Barnett and Rob Calice led SJV with a goal and an assist each and senior forward Colin Gartz scored once. Dan Shallcross stopped 24 of 27 shots.

 

No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Marlboro 2

Junior defenseman Spencer Lee and senior forward Ryan Croddick scored goals in the third period as Rumson (1-0-2, 0-0-2) rallied to forge a tie with the Mustangs (3-2-2, 1-1-2). Croddick scored the game-tying goal on the power play with 6:28 left in the game.

Marlboro took a 2-0 lead in the first period. Junior forward Ethan Gelman got the scoring started at 5:06 off assists from senior defenseman Daniel Goldstein and senior forward Paul Golembiewski. Goldstein then scored a power-play goal at 8:23 with Zachary Robinson and John Spallin providing the assists.

After a scoreless second period, Rumson pulled within a goal when Lee scored 1:13 into the third period with an assist from Braiden Spagnuola. Croddick's game-tying goal was assisted by Andrew Schmid and Brett Pritchard.

Marlboro junior goalie Dmitri Kapranov was great once again with 40 saves by Rumson goalie Ronan Hickey made some timely stops in the third period and finished with 28 saves.

 

Central Division

Howell 5, Freehold Township 4 - Live Stream

Senior forward James Fay recorded two goals and an assist and senior forward Stanley Paluszek had a goal and three assists as the Rebels (1-2, 1-0) beat the rival Patriots (2-6, 0-4).

Fay scored both of his goals in the first period to give Howell a 2-0 lead before Freehold Township scored twice in the final minute to tie the game at two at the first intermission. Peyton Liebross scored at 14:00 off a feed from Payton Fobes and Jake Butler beat the buzzer with one second left in the opening period.

Howell then scored three times in the second period to take the lead for good. Jason Angotti gave the Rebels the lead with a short-handed goal off an assist from Paluszek but the Patriots tied it up again on a goal by Joe Lombardo at 8:50. Just over a minute later, an unassisted by Paluszek gave Howell a 4-3 lead. Anthon Vella then scored with 24 seconds left in the second period for what would prove to be the game-winning goal.

Fobes scored at 9:55 of the third period to pull Freehold Township within a goal but Howell's defense and sophomore goalie Brendan Breschard shut the door the rest of the way. Breschard made 32 saves to earn the win.

Fobes led Freehold Township with a goal and two assists while Lombardo had a goal and an assist and Karina Vang made 27 saves.

 

Nondivisional

Southern 5, No. 10 Catholic (St. Rose/Donovan/RBC) 1 - Live Stream

Junior forward Matthew Leonard scored twice, including a highlight-reel "Michigan" goal, and freshman Aidan Rowland made 22 saves to earn the win in his first varsity start as the Rams (3-2) upended the Frozen Roses (1-2).

Leonard finished with two goals and an assist, senior William DiStefano tallied a game-high four points with two goals and two assists and junior Christopher Laureigh scored once.
