Central Division

Southern 4, Freehold Township 1

Junior forward Chris Laureigh scored twice and added an assist, senior forward Parker Lech had three helpers and junior goalie Trey Mattern made 28 saves as the Rams (1-2, 1-0) picked up their first win of the season and gave head coach Graham Borg his first win as Southern head coach.

Senior forwards Will DeStefano and Ryan High each scored once and Corbin Siek and Matthew Leonard had one assist each.

 

South Division

Red Bank 8, Toms River East 4

Senior forward Gordon Ogden scored four goals and added two assists and Harry Spencer scored twice to power the Bucs (2-0, 2-0 to a four-goal victory over the Raiders (1-1, 1-1).

A short-handed goal by Nate Cooper gave Red Bank a 1-0 lead at 3:36 of the first period and Ogden added another short-handed goal 22 seconds later. Ogden then registered a natural hat trick that spanned the second and third periods, scoring unassisted at 10:36 of the second, scoring off assists from Sam Almasy and Anthony Pinto at 12:38 of the second and again off a pass from Almasy at 2:34 of the third period. Odgen now has seven goals and four assists in two games this season. Gus Fillippelli made 21 saves to earn the win.

Almasy finished with three assists, Cooper scored once, Bryce Fernandes had a goal and Tristan Molinari had two assists.

Christopher Dineen had two goals and one assist to lead Toms River East/Toms River South. Vito Pecorella had a goal and an assist and Michael Talierico scored once. Dominick McKeon made 18 saves.

 

Nondivisional

Manalapan 3, Marlboro 0

A power-play goal by junior defenseman Rich Williams at 12:49 of the first period was the only tally the Braves would need as junior goalie John Fox recorded his first career shutout to lead Manalapan (2-2) past the rival Mustangs (1-2).

Ryan Bechutsky added a goal and an assist, Dylan Stein scored once and Chris Pietromonaco dished out two assists.
