Over the next several days there are some key girls basketball matchups, ones that will impact division races and Shore & State rankings.

1/19 Thursday

#4 Trinity Hall at Saddle River Day 5:00 pm – Trinity Hall might be facing their biggest test of the season to date as they play Top 20 in the state SRD. Trinity Hall cracked the Top 20 last week on NJ.com and will look to move up the rankings.

Manchester at Central Regional 6:30 pm – The battle for top spot in B South with undefeated Central Regional hosting 1 lose Manchester. Central Regional won the previous matchup, 56-54, before the Holiday break.

Jackson Memorial at #7 Toms River North 6:30 pm – A South will be on the line as these two rivals face off one more time. TRN won the first matchup, but Jackson Memorial was without senior Zoie Maffei. TRN is currently undefeated in the division while Jackson Memorial has 1 loss.


1/20 Friday

#5 Manasquan at #3 St. Rose 5:30 pm – One of the biggest rivalry games in the Shore, St. Rose was able to take the first game of the season to get a leg up in C North. Manasquan has won three in a row and will look to bring their best game to push a tie in the division.


1/21 Saturday

#1 SJV at Saddle River Day 11:00 am – Last year they met as the #1-2 teams in the state and SJV took care of SRD easily. SDR is Top 20 in NJ, but SJV is coming off a win vs the #1 team in country LuHi.

South VS Shore Showcase (At Rancocas Valley)

Cherokee vs #9 Ocean Twp 5:00 -This could be Ocean Township toughest test of the season. Cherokee is always ranked in Top 20 in NJ and just had a big win vs rival Shawnee. Ocean will look to prove they can compete with the state’s best.

Shawnee vs #5 Manasquan 2:00 -  Both teams ranked in the Top 20 this season, Manasquan has one the deeper teams in the state which can cause problems with Shawnee. Shawnee is led by Nia Scott and Avery Kessler.

Woodbury vs Holmdel 5:00 -Woodbury was handed its first lost this past week to Cherokee, while Holmdel picked up a hard fought win vs Jackson Memorial. Junior Allison Cannon was fantastic this weekend scoring and getting her teammates involved with her passing.

Clearview vs #8 Shore Regional 3:00- Shore is coming off two hard fought wins and senior Rylee Drahos showed why she is still one the Shore Conference’s best players after her 30 points 17 rebound 7 assist performance against Manchester.  Clearview is 5-5, but all their loses are against some of the best teams in South Jersey.
