Shore Conference Divisional Realignment for 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 Seasons

The Shore Conference released the divisional realignments in football and general classification for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons on Thursday.

Football will be undergoing a major change starting with the 2018 season as it goes from six division to five. Class B North will be eliminated and those teams will be dispersed through four of the remaining divisions. Class B Central remains comprised of the smallest schools in the Shore based on enrollment.

Some of the most striking football changes include Red Bank Catholic and Manasquan moving to Class B South to join teams that have traditionally been in the that division. Lakewood, a longtime Class B South program, will move to Class A South. Point Boro and Donovan Catholic will move to Class B Central, which means a Point Boro vs. Point Beach regular season game that hasn't occurred in several years.

Traditional Class B North teams Ocean, Wall and Neptune be join longtime Class A Central squads St. John Vianney, Raritan and Rumson-Fair Haven. Class A North features all six high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District,  plus Middletown South, Middletown North and Long Branch.

The general classification underwent minor changes. Class B South and Class B Central will remain unchanged.

The proposal passed the Shore Conference Executive Committee by an 11-1 vote.

There is a provision that will allow the Shore Conference to go back and review if any proposals are passed by the NJSIAA that would effect football group alignments, power points, etc.

Note: Schools listed from largest enrollment to smallest of freshman and sophomore classes combined.

Class A North

Freehold Township, Manalapan, Howell, Marlboro, Long Branch, Middletown South, Freehold, Colts Neck, Middletown North.

Class A Central

Neptune, Red Bank, Ocean, Wall, Matawan, St. John Vianney, Monmouth, Rumson-Fair Haven, Raritan.

Class A South

Toms River North,  Southern, Jackson Memorial, Brick Memorial, Toms River South, Toms River East, Central, Brick, Lakewood.

Class B Central

Point Boro, Donovan Catholic, Shore, Keansburg, Point Beach, Keyport, Asbury Park, Mater Dei Prep.

Class B South

Jackson Liberty, Lacey, Manchester, Pinelands, Holmdel, Barnegat, Manasquan, Red Bank Catholic.

GENERAL CLASSIFICATION

Class A North

Class A Central
