No. 2 CBA 13, No. 8 Middletown South 5
Senior midfielder Ian Macrae had a hat trick and assisted on four other goals and senior attackman Nick Blalock tallied two goals and five assists as the Colts (3-1, 2-0) absorbed a rally by the Eagles (1-1, 1-1) and scored six unanswered goals to secure a division victory.
CBA led 4-0 after the first quarter and 7-2 at halftime, but Middletown South was able to close the gap to 7-5 late in the third quarter. Blalock responded with a goal immediately and the Colts scored all five goals in the fourth quarter. Senior attackman Brendan Donnelly scored three goals, junior midfielder Cameron D'Alterio and senior midfielder Liam Schwartz each had a goal and an assist, and freshman middie Ben Breeden, sophomore middie Davis Campbell, and sophomore LSM Quinn Kelly each scored once. Junior goalie Brandon DeSena made three saves.
Junior midfielder Colin Gallagher led Middletown South with two goals and one assist and senior midfielder Beau Servidio had a strong day at the face-off X in addition to scoring a goal, while Steve Kirchner and Nick Wisnewski also had one goal each.
Howell 14, Marlboro 0
Senior attackman Nate Lorenzo sank five goals and assisted on another while Nicholas Turturo, Jack Marich, and Vincent Meehan each posted five-point games to send the Rebels (2-2, 1-1) past the Mustangs (0-4, 0-2).
Marich scored four goals with one assist, Turturro had two goals and three assists, and Meehan scored a goal and added four assists. Jon Peal Pepe and Leonardo Annunziata had one goal each and Brendan Breschard (5 saves) and Adam Baker (2 saves) split time in goal.
Manalapan 11, Freehold Township 9
Christian Zdziarski, Jake Schatz, Anthony Macchio, Marc Stefanelli, and Luke Mann each scored as the Braves (2-0, 2-0) used a balanced effort and a second-half rally to defeat the rival Patriots (0-2, 0-2).
Manalapan led 3-0 after the first quarter before Freehold Township scored five times in the second quarter to lead 5-4 at halftime. The Braves outscored the Patriots 5-2 in the third quarter to take the lead and each team scored three times in the fourth quarter.
Aidan Wilmot added one goal while Zdziarski, Macchio, Mann, and Matt Avivi also had one assist each. Connor Doel (4 saves) and Antonio Santana (3 saves) shared time in goal.
Colts Neck 6, Middletown North 3
Junior goalie Aaron Nasimov stood tall with 15 saves and seniors Braeden SanFilippo and Sean Perkinson each scored twice to steer the Cougars (1-2, 1-1) to a victory over the Lions (2-1, 1-1).
Colts Neck held Middletown North off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter while steadily increasing its lead to 4-0 through the first 36 minutes. Tyler Bowden added a goal and an assist and senior LSM/defenseman Thomas Halmi scored once.
Class A South
Jackson Memorial 20, Brick Memorial 3
Freshman Emanuel Jastrzebski erupted for five goals and nine assists for a conference season-high 14 points as the Jaguars (2-0, 2-0) rolled to a victory over the Mustangs (1-2, 1-1).
Drew Barocas also had a huge game with six goals and two assists, as did Justin Perillo with five goals and two assists. Elias Craig added two goals and two assists while Alex Ariel and Elijah Coffman had one goal each. Coffman also collected a game-high 14 ground balls. Junior FOGO Zack O'Connell dominated the face-off X and won 22 of 24 draws.
Matt Cohrs scored twice, Trey Tallmadge scored once, and Matt Hillin made 15 saves.
Brick 12, Central 4
Zack Wagner scored four goals and Travis Hickman delivered a goal and three assists to lead the Dragons (2-3, 1-1) to a victory over the Golden Eagles (1-3, 0-2).
Kurt Weibolt had two goals and one assist, Ethan Galvan had a goal and two assists, and Cailean Connolly scored twice as the Dragons spread the scoring among seven different players. Travis Trempy added a goal and an assist and James Hirtes scored once. Ryan Kurc (7 saves) and Jason Glandorf (3 saves) shared time in goal.
Jahaziel Garcia had three goals and one assist to lead Central. JAke Agugliaro scored once and Brady Etzkorn made 19 saves.
Toms River North 8, Toms River South 7
Senior attackman Nick Walano recorded his 100th career point and the Mariners (1-2, 1-1) held on for a one-goal win over the rival Indians (0-4, 0-2).
Nicholas Romaine led Toms River South with three goals and one assist. Nicholas Mueller made 12 saves, Brady Derome scored twice, Cal Narvaez and Dennis Forbes had a goal and an assist each, and Nolen Mahoney had two assists.
Class B North
No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 16, Ocean 1
Grayson Goldin scored four goals and added two assists, Luke Lydon had a hat trick and one assist, and Cole Cashion tallied two goals and two assists as the Bulldogs (4-1, 3-0) cruised to a victory over the Spartans (1-4, 0-2).
Vincent Raphalian scored twice while Andy Croddick, Britt Lumsden, Nicholas French, Leo Passalaqua, and Rory Keane had one goal each. Luke Marascio won 13 of 14 at the face-off X and Keane went 4-for-4 at the X. Marshall Halfacre made four saves to earn the win and Will Setteducate (2 saves) also saw action.
Blaine Grayson made 19 saves and Ben Gird scored once for Ocean.
No. 5 Shore 15, Long Branch 1
The Blue Devils (3-0, 2-0) spread the wealth with 10 different goal scorers in their victory over the Green Wave (0-5, 0-3).
Brady Cooke had a game-high six points on three goals and six assists, Carson Spallone tallied three goals and two assists, and Sam Madalone and Reid Spallone each dished out four assists. Braden Miller, Tucker Malfa, and Jack Madalone each scored twice while Aidan Murphy, Ben Levy (1g, 2a), Joey Marianni, Henry Azzolini, and Finn Watson each scored once. John Mazzacco had two assists, Malfa went 16-for-18 on face-offs and Noah Karaban (1 save) and Adrian Piesco (2 saves) split time in goal.
Julian Benner scored Long Branch's goal and Jordan Perkins picked up six ground balls.
No. 9 Red Bank 9, No. 7 Holmdel 6
Senior midfielder Henry Spencer tallied four goals and one assist and senior goalie Gavin Lisko had a monster game in the cage with 19 saves to send the Bucs (3-1, 1-1) past the Hornets (3-1, 1-1) in a matchup of ranked teams.
Ryder Villani added two goals and one assist, Gabe Pape scored twice, and Jack Tavares scored once.
Freshman attackman Finnegan Buchan scored four goals for Holmdel and Andrew Arredondo also had a big game in goal with 17 saves. Kyle Kapcsos had a goal and an assist, Dylan Lagana scored once, and Jack Powers went 14-for-19 at the face-off X with 11 ground balls.
Class B South
No. 3 Wall 19, Lacey 4
Senior attackman John McCurry delivered three goals and four assists, junior midfielder Shea Brennan tallied two goals and two assists, and junior attackman Jack Meyer notched a hat trick to lead the Crimson Knights (3-2, 2-0) to a victory over the Lions (2-3, 0-2).
Connor Moore added two goals and one assist and Wyatt Capro also scored twice. Will Madden and Patrick Freud had a goal and assist each while Finnegan Tilton, Jackson Lemongelli, Pat Donohue, Michael Hoarle, and Anthony Gartz had one goal each. Hoarle also went 19-for-21 at the face-off X. Lucas Seelinger (2 saves) and Braeden Buckley (1 save) shared time in goal.
Sophomore attackman Corey Smith scored all four goals for Lacey and senior goalie Chad Moor made 14 saves.
No. 4 Manasquan 18, No. 10 Barnegat 0
Senior attackman Matt Porazzo scored three goals and assisted on five more to lead the way for the Warriors (3-0, 2-0) in their victory over the Bengals (3-1, 1-1).
Ryan Aldi had a hat trick, James Farinacci scored twice, and Brandon Kunz had a goal and two assists. Matt Schneider and Blake Gorski had a goal and an assist each while Joseph Carabetta, Parker Harms, Kelly Mulligan, Jack O'Reilly, James Caddott, and Nick Carabetta each scored once. Ty Therman went 10-for-14 on face-offs and Luke Herbert went 4-for-6 at the X. Nick Bounassi (1 save), Cooper Daly (1 save), and Pat Loxley (2 saves) shared time in goal.
Jackson Liberty 18, St. Rose 6
Junior attackman Paul Capozi scored a career-high eight goals and added three assists for a career-high 11 points to lead the way for the Lions (1-1, 1-1) in their victory over the Purple Roses (0-2, 0-2).
Freshman Jeffery White tallied three goals and five assists and Reese Stewart delivered three goals and one assist. Billy Schuler added two goals and one assist, Peter Abline had a goal and an assist, and James Capucci scored once. Connor D'Andrea won 12 of 17 face-offs and Matthew LaBianca (5 saves) and Evan Canning (1 save) shared time in goal.
