Class A South

Southern 17, Toms River East 11

Senior midfielder Joey DeYoung scored a career-high eight goals and added three assists for a career-best 11 points as the Rams (3-1, 2-0) held off a stern challenge from the Raiders (2-1, 1-1) to win their 65th straight division game.

Konnor Forlai had a hat trick, Liam Griffin delivered two goals and three assists, Hayden Lucas had two goals and one assist, and Joe Kessler scored twice to round out Southern's offensive output. AJ Mattern (5 saves) and Nick Roesch (8 saves) split time in goal.

Senior midfielder Luke Barber had a big game for Toms River East with six goals and one assist and Nick Caruso supplied three goals and three assists. Patrick Hinkson and Nate Cummings had one goal each and Lester Cook made nine saves.

Southern led 3-2 after the first quarter and six three at halftime. The Rams increased that lead to 12-6 heading to the fourth quarter where each team scored five times.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 12, Donovan Catholic 5

Senior attackman Brian Ostrander sank five goals and added two assists and junior goalie Colin Cole made 12 saves as the Panthers (3-1, 1-1) downed the Griffins (2-1, 1-1) at Al Saner Field.

Greyson Ritter added two goals and one assist while Brady Kirk, Jason Piemonte, Spencer Knapp, and Matt Woit each had a goal and an assist. Robert Trapanese scored once and Tommy Morris had two assists in addition to going 10 for 21 on face-offs.

Andrew Baltus scored three goals and one assist and won 11 of 20 face-offs for Donovan. Jake Kerwin and Emanuel Gerena had one goal each and Dom Rocco Ciniglio made nine saves.

 

Nondivisional

Howell 15, Toms River South 4

Senior attackman Nate Lorenzo scored six times and added two assists as one of three multi-goal scorers for the Rebels (1-2), who topped the Indians to pick up their first win of the season.

Nicholas Turturo had two goals and four assists, Jack Marich had three goals and one assist, and Ian McDown had a goal and four assists to help lead a balanced offense. Jon Peal Pepe tallied a goal and an assist, Brendan Breschard made four saves, Vincent Meehan scored a goal and won 8 of 11 face-offs, and Jayden Devino also scored once.

Steve Lindemann had a goal and an assist and Nicholas Mueller made nine saves for Toms River South. Dennis Forbes, Ben Hartzfeld, and Austin Daluise each scored once.

 

Nonconference

Shore 9, Holy Spirit 8 (OT)

Ben Levy tied the score in the final minute of regulation and Carson Spallone scored off a setup from Aidan Murphy in overtime as the Blue Devils (2-0) rallied for a dramatic victory over the Spartans (1-2).

Spallone scored a team-high four goals, Levy had two goals and two assists, and Murphy tallied two goals and one assist to lead Shore's offense. Brady Cooke scored once and Sam Madalone set up multiple goals with three assists. Brendan O'Brien and Tucker Malfa combined to go 16-for-21 at the face-off X and Noah Karaban made nine saves.

 

Ridgewood 15, Wall 7

Ridgewood (2-1) opened up a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back on their way to victory over the Crimson Knights (2-2) in a matchup of state top 20 teams.

Ridgewood's Myles McCutcheon led all players with four goals and two assists.

Shea Brennan scored twice and added an assist and Connor Moore also scored twice for Wall. Lucas Seelinger made 10 saves and John McCurry, Billy Carr, and Michael Hoarle had one goal each.
