Shore Conference Tournament

Preliminary round

14-Jackson Memorial 18, 19-Lacey 5

Junior attackman Drew Barocas scored five goals and assisted on three others and freshman attackman Emanuel Jastrzebski delivered three goals and four assists as the Jaguars (9-2) defeated the Lions (7-9) to advance in the SCT.

Junior midfielder Zach O'Connell won 18 of 23 face-offs, senior midfielder Charlie Gumina tallied two goals and two assists, and senior attackman Justin Perillo had two goals and one assist. Junior middie Elias Craig and sophomore middie Brenden Albiter each scored twice, freshman Joseph Muzzillo had a goal and an assist, and freshman LSM Elijah Coffman had two assists and nine ground balls. Junior goalie Russell Cender made six saves.

Freshman attackman Ryan Gleason scored twice and senior goalie Chad Moore made 17 saves for Lacey. Sophomore attackman Corey Smith had a goal and an assist, senior midfielder Zach Brewer scored once, and sophomore LSM Derek Hurley picked up a game-high 11 ground balls.

Jackson will face No. 3 seed Manasquan in the first round on Saturday.

 

17-Donovan Catholic 7, 16-Barnegat 6 (2OT)

Junior attackman Jack Farlekas sank the game-winning goal in double overtime as the Griffins (9-5) won an SCT thriller over the Bengals (11-4).

Freshman midfielder Emanuel Gerena registered a team-high three goals and two assists, sophomore midfielder Teague Hibbard had two goals, two assists, and six ground balls, and junior midfielder Andrew Baltus had a goal and two assists. Senior goalie Dom Rocco Ciniglio made eight saves.

Sophomore midfielder Luke Tortorici had two goals and one assist and senior goalie Lucas Holland made 15 saves to lead Barnegat. Seth Freiwald also scored twice while Keegan Dunn and Bailey Carroll had one goal each.

Donovan will face top-seeded and defending champion Rumson-Fair Haven in the first round on Saturday.

 

15-Howell 11, 18-Freehold Township 9

Senior attackman Nate Lorenzo scored six goals and senior goalie Brendan Breschard made 14 saves as the Rebels (7-7) edged the Patriots (7-5) to advance in the SCT.

Senior attackman Jack Marich scored three goals and sophomore midfielder Nicholas Turturro scored twice. Junior midfielder Jon Peal Pepe and senior midfielder Kieran Baldwin each scored once.

Howell will play at No. 2 seed Wall on Saturday in the first round.

 

First Round

8-Shore 10, 9-Middletown South 4

Senior attackman Ben Levy delivered four goals and three assists and senior goalie Walker Hunter made 14 saves to send the Blue Devils (9-4) past the Eagles (8-5) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Junior attackman Carson Spallone added two goals and one assist, sophomore midfielder Tucker Malfa scored twice, junior attackman Brady Cooke had a goal and an assist, junior midfielder Lucas White scored once, and sophomore FOGO Brendan O'Brien won 8 of 11 face-offs.

Junior midfielder Colin Gallagher scored twice and junior Logan Ballin and senior midfielder Mike Provini had one goal each for Middletown South.

Shore awaits the winner of Saturday's game between top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven and No. 17 Donovan Catholic.

 

Regular Season

Class A South

No. 5 Southern 18, Toms River South 2

Senior attackman Hayden Lucas scored four goals and added one assist and senior Ty Murawski supplied three goals and one assist as the Rams (10-3, 7-0) officially secured their 10th straight outright division title.

The Rams have now won 70 straight games against Class A South opponents.

Junior attackman Konnor Forlai scored three goals, sophomore Liam Griffin and senior midfielder Joey DeYoung each scored twice, and junior midfielder Anthony Arch had a goal and two assists. Sophomores Billy Barry and Joe Kessler had a goal and an assist each and sophomore FOGO won 15 of 16 face-offs and scored a goal. Junior goalie Nick Roesch (2 saves) and sophomore goalie AJ Mattern (3 saves) shared time in goal.

Ben Hartzfeld and Brady Derome each scored once and Nicholas Mueller made three saves for Toms River South.

 

Nondivisional

Central 11, Neptune 6

Freshman attackman Jake Agugliaro totaled three goals and three assists, senior midfielder Jahaziel Garcia scored three goals, and sophomore goalie Brady Etzkorn made 12 saves to send the Golden Eagles (3-9) to a victory over the Scarlet Fliers (2-10).

Senior midfielder Stefano Babino had a goal and two assists, junior attackman Grant Paczkowski had a goal and an assist, and senior midfielder Patrick McNamee scored once. Sophomore Vincent Tuminaro also saw time in goal for Central.

Senior Myles McGovern scored a game-high four goals to lead Neptune. Senior Anthony Paz had a goal and an assist, senior Brendan Mansfield scored once, and senior goalie Erick Contreras made 12 saves.

 

Point Boro 10, Ocean 2

Junior attackman Spencer Knapp scored a career-high seven goals to lead the Panthers (10-3) to a victory over the Spartans (3-14).

Sophomore attackman Brady Kirk scored three goals and added one assist, senior FOGO Tommy Morris won 14 of 15 face-offs, junior midfielder Greyson Ritter picked up a career-high nine ground balls, and junior goalie Colin Cole made four saves.

Ocean senior goalie Blaine Grayson returned from injury to play a quarter and a half, making 16 saves and allowing two goals. Freshman attackman/midfielder Jack Varley and freshman defenseman/midfielder Mickey McGovern supplied the goals for the Spartans.

Freshman attackman Nick Correia tallied five goals and four assists and freshman attackman Jack D'Eufemia notched three goals and two assists as the Mustangs (5-10) rolled to a victory over the Raiders (8-6) on senior night.

Senior midfielder Matt Cohrs scored three goals and added one assist, senior attackman/midfielder Michael Occhiogrosso had two goals and one assist, and senior FOGO Christian Valanzola won 13 of 15 face-offs and scored a goal. Freshman midfielder Trey Tallmadge had a goal and two assists, sophomore goalie Matt Hillin made 10 saves, and junior attackman Lucas Stickle scored once.

 

Old Bridge 15, St. John Vianney 2

Senior goalie Jack Lupo made 15 saves and juniors William Keegan and Khush Mehta scored goals for the Lancers (7-9) in their loss to the Knights (6-8). Freshman FOGO Max Menkowitz continued his excellent season at the face-off X by winning 16 of 19 draws.
